Today Peter Forsberg turned 32 years old. I remember hearing about how Forsberg was drafted by the Flyers in 1991. It was almost a year later that one of the worst trades in Philadelphia sports history took place. The Flyers traded Peter Forsberg, Steve Duchesne, Kerry Huffman, Mike Ricci, Ron Hextall, Chris Simon, Philadelphia's 1st round choice in the 1993 & 1994, and cash for Eric Lindros.

I just hate it because the Flyers gave up so much.

Let me be the first to say that i could not have been happier. I can't imagine having had to root for the Flyers because Forsberg played for them (Forsberg is my all-time favorite player). Looking back, obviously, philly shouldn't have even done a straight-up deal, Forsberg for Lindros. Lindros had 6, maybe 7 good years and faded into mediocrity due to injury. Forsberg, despite injuries, continues to perform at the highest level possible.

that was insane at the time. I mean, Forsberg wasn't exactly considered a slouch when he was starting out.

Dumbest trade ever (absolutely no way to refute this): Edmonton trades: Gretzky McSorley Krushelnyski to LA for: Jimmy Carson Martin Gelinas 3 1st round picks and $15 MILLION (a crapload of money in '88)

wasn't a dumb trade to move gretzky. you think any team that COULD keep gretzky would deal him? Edmonton had to move everybody because they couldn't afford them. Messier, Kurri, Lowe, Fuhr, Anderson, etc etc all got dealt. The Naslund deal is up there
