I went with NHL '06 this year....my first hockey game since NHL 2003. I've always liked the EA hockey games, but I was extremely happy with ESPN College Hoops 2k5 last year, so hopefully I made the right choice with hockey.

I'm going off of last year, but ESPN was much more realistic gameplay wise, all around a better feel, but there were some big glitches that brought it down. If they were fixed this year, idk.

I heard that ESPN hockey has really fallen off this year. NHL should be pretty good. Especially after the first roster update when the rookies get put in. Damn you NHLPA.

yah I have never quit got why the NHLPA won't let them use rookies in their games until after. It doesn't make sense.

Irck says NHL 06 sucks, no fantasy draft and he said the rosters were a slight disappointment, even though I've been hearing otherwise. I think I might rent it. If anyone gets it, please post a review.

Well, the NHLPA does not consider them offical NHL players until they play in their first season game.

I don't really care about the rookies, it's the established players and such that I wonder about. I just want a game review if anyone has it.

When I get the game, I am just putting in rookies who are in, or have a decent chance to play in the NHL, and of course, all of the Flyers rookies.  |

I got NHL '06 DB and I am so far very satisfied, I like it. I haven't gotten a hockey game since NHL 2004 though. The rosters are somewhat disappointing, Lindros and many others are still free agents. So far though so good.
One question to clear up though....did they get rid of big shooters and the big hit players?

Yeah, I dont think they have any of that anymore. Overall, I'm satisfied as well although, as I stated to Freak, two things that really irk me are those stupid GM challenges and the fact that there's still no cap in it. Other than that, I can handle the minor roster updates and I'm going to have fun with this one.

no cap????? how does that make sense with the huge CBA changes that have taken place????? EA you guys are idiots for not putting that in.

Does NHL 2k6 have a fantasy draft? I planned on doing a NHL dynasty with that storyline.
