Red Wings defenseman Jiri Fischer collapsed on the bench during the game tonight, and CPR was performed. More to come when we find out more, but for now, keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Fischer is in stable condition and will be OK....he suffered a seizure on the bench.

Wow, they stopped the game and didn't resume it because of his injury. That may be the classiest thing ever in sports. Although it is good to hear he is in stable condition.

Seizure's are quite scary things to witness. Last year in science, a kid had a seizure right next to me, while we were dissecting frogs. Had like, knives in his hand, fell straight back on the floor, scared us all to death.

Wow that is nuts keeper. I am glad to hear that Fischer is ok. I hope they can figure out his heart condition. My friend was telling me about someone on his soccer squad who suffered a seizure. The kid said he was alert but could not do anything about the seizure.

It was undoubtedly one of the scariest moments in my life. He was just standing right in the middle of the aisle, and just went straight backward.
Because of the ambulence and all that stuff, we ended up staying in some like storage room for 30 minutes, because they didn't know where else to put us.
Plus, I had that class with a bunch of girls, so I had them crying all over me. Wasn't a fun day at all.
Atleast with a seizure, the chances that it will effect the rest of his career are quite minimal
