Yeah they need the 3 seed, but I was just saying the 4th seed could be easily obtained. Would you rather face Buffalo at home who you haven't beaten or likely Tampa Bay, who've you struggled against too...

To be honest, neither But, they gotta play someone so i'll take Tampa. This scares me however, as Tampa seems to have something on the Flyers that remains from last hockey season. Also, with talented guys like Lecavier and University of Vermont native Martin St. Louis, it could be tough.

Well actually, now the Lightning are the 8 seed (2 points back of Jersey and Montreal) so it's one of those 3 teams that the Flyers/Rangers will play...

I just found out an interesting stat about the Flyers today. The line of R.J. Umberger, Jeff Carter, and Niko Dimitrakos has 13 goals in 8 games. Jeff Carter leads the line with 6 goals.

Well I'll bump this up now. Right now, the playoffs would be this:
Ottawa vs. Montreal Carolina vs. Tampa Bay New York R vs. New Jersey Buffalo vs. Philadelphia
Detroit vs. San Jose Dallas vs. Edmonton Calgary vs. Colorado Nashville vs. Anaheim
It should be noted that Vancouver and San Jose are tied for 8th in the West, but the Canucks have played 2 more games. Tampa Bay and Montreal are tied for 7th in the East, but Tampa Bay holds the tiebreaker (more games won).
Anywho, these next 5 games are huge for the Flyers. They can potentially move up to 3rd in the conference, or go down as low as really 7th or 8h, but most likely 6th. They desperately need to beat surging New Jersey at least once in the two games remaining, and if they can win those twice and the beat the Rangers, they have a great shot at getting the 3 seed. Besides those two ties and the Flyers, that's pretty much the only shifts you'll see in the standings, unless a couple lower seeded teams in the West leapfrog or New Jersey falls out quickly and Montreal and/or Tampa gets hot...

Philadelphia has to change how they are playing. When the year started Ken Hitchcock knew he had to attack. Now, he is back to the old ways pre-lockout of trying to win the game in the neutral zone. It is not working, why he keeps trying to make it work is beyond me.

Flyers got a big win today against the Rangers. This helps us get within a point of the 3rd seed in the East. Our next big game will be New Jersey. That is a must win IMO.
