I did a fantasy draft for a season the other day. I have a great team. My first line is just amazing. Left wing is Simon Gagne, right wing is Jarome Iginla, and my center on that line is Craig Conroy. The depth I have is awesome as well. I have Ollie Joinkenen, Jeff Halpern, and some other great performers. My defense is anchored by Brian Rafalski, and Eric Desjardins. I have to say, Thomas Vokun is a monster in net. What is the best fantasy draft any of you had?

Cool If you know a little bit about hockey, which you do, you can easily have a great team.

Sounds like a pretty sick team. Is awesome whne you can get that great pair of players who can just do everything, like Gagne and Iginla.

I did one a few weeks back. I don't remember the exact team, but I had a line of Gagne, Brierre, and Iginla and one of Jon Sim (who's a beast for me) Handzus (what's with all the Flyers now that I think about it) and Leightnen (sp? his shot is great). Later on I think I traded Gagne and some defensemen for Heatley and some crap winger and a decent defender and then traded Brierre, Handzus, and Leightnen for Nash, Ovechkin, and Yashin.
I wasn't that happy with getting Auld as my goalie though, but I still loved my team...

I haven't followed hockey closely in several years and just picked up NHL 05. Any suggestions on who to go after for which positions? I'm nut just looking for all stars, I can find them on my own, but I'm looking for some solid back ups and younger players to improve my depth.

I like Michael Handzus for defensive purposes but Sami Kapenen has some legs.
