It amazes me how quickly Philly fans turn on their players.

It amazes me how quickly Philly fans turn on their players. I wasn't turning on Forsberg. I'm simply saying bring Roenick back as Peter the Great's replacement until January.

It's a shame. His career looks like it's on the way down for good. He had a decent season but he was hurt too much. That's a lot of cap money too that's going wasted...

Well unfortunately that's the price he pays for playing his physical style. I still think that you're going to get alot of production out of him, but his health has been a concern for a long time.

This makes me sad to see one of my favorite players go down like this. It amazes me how he was still able to be effective even when he was hurt all this year. Looks like my Philly Flyers are just gonna have to rely on my real favorite player Antero Niittymaki a liitle bit more next year.

I am really mad about this. WTH Damn surgery. I hope he makes a full recovery and I hope Ken Hitchcock pulls his head out of his *** and plays an attack style instead of trying to win the game at the blueline.

Tell me about it, i dont see why the Flyers always have to be big and bulky. Why cant they go get some speedy defensemen who can make rushes, yet still play the body. Unless big Dmen are really skilled like Hatcher, they aren't going to do well with the new rules.

Well, they really didn't know how the new rules would affect these defensemen. But, the big, bully style has always been the Flyers. It always will be. Bob Clarke won't change how the team is built. He just needs to be able to attack the opposing defense. Also, Kim Johnson will help a lot. He won't really be hurt by the new rules that much. I can't wait for him to get back.

Kim Johnson definitely would have changed the 1st round of the playoffs. He fits the mold of a top defensemen for the new style perfectly. I personally think Nittimaki should be traded. Esche right now is the man. I think he understands the position better, and he's the one with playoff experience. Also, he's got some toughness in him, trying to make some sparks in the playoffs, and even against Ottawa in that famous street fight of a hockey game, which Philly can't get enough of. With Primeau and Forsberg pretty much out of it, they need a center, another speedy defensemen, and a speedy winger that could probably go on the 2nd line, assuming Knuble and Gagne are both coming back...

Philly needs to get rid of half of their defensive corps. I mean, even before this year, when was the last time that Derian Hatcher had a really dominant season? Ragnarsson fit the sharks system well but is too big and bulky for the current NHL. As for Nittimaki and Esche, I don't think they could truly go wrong with keeping one and trading the other. Both are strong, young goaltenders with bright careers ahead of them. Forsberg will still be a premier player but his health is and forever will be a concern; its just the way he plays.
