So does this mean Pronger and Niedermayer on the same team? ? What is this, Team Canada?

They gave up ALOT to get Pronger. I mean, he's an elite defenseman but that's still ALOT.

To be honest I disagree. They gave a promising young scorer yes, but what else? A prospect that, to tell the truth, prob will never play and a few draft picks and honestly the NHL Draft is crapshoot past the first 10 or so picks.
I would have prefered getting a good defenceman like Vitaly vishnevski or something rather than the picks/prospects but this was prob the best Lowe could do.

I'm gettin scary images in my head of Edmonton in 3 years. If Hemsky finally breaks out and Lupul turns out to be a star too (assuming one of them shifts to the other wing) along with Horcoff is going to be dangerous. Edmonton all the sudden seems a whole lot deeper as some of the young guys start to break out. Also what's the deal with Samsonov? With the salary cap increased and Pronger's salary off the hook, will Edmonton go after him or are there other buyers?
Although without Pronger, the defense looks very shaky now, in my opinion. Asides from possibly getting Samsonov, finding a couple decent guys to help out the backline should be the top priority...

even though...he said he was gonna fulfill his last contract with Rögle BK of Angelholm...Kenny Jonsson is a solid defenseman and good leader he could be a good pick-up for edmonton.
