The Pens turned down Cuban/Marino's bid to buy the team. It was around $170M, but the winner was some real estate agent that bid $175M.
This is terrible news for Penguins fans. You knew if Marino and Cuban took over, there would be total rehaul and in the end, a team with promise would arise. Instead, some real estate agent from Kansas City is most likely going to move the team to KC.
Just pisses me off a little that the best fit for the franchise isn't able to control this mess of an organization with so much young talent...

This does suck. Pittsburgh was a great place for hockey. I really don't see anything good coming out of going to KC. Yes, they will get a better arena but other than that, nothing. It is hard for a hockey team to thrive in an area where it is not played as much.

I thought Pittsburgh had great fans back in the day when they were good and had a great rivalry with the Flyers
It'll be a shame if they're moved

Don't they know that the Scouts already failed? Knowing some of the hockey smarts that these owners have these days, probably not. They probably would have no clue what you're talking about. I honestly don't get these stupid Penguins. 5 million dollars was the difference. Are they that greedy that they'd rather completely destroy their franchise for an extra 5M? Or you could freakin take 5 million less and give it to owners you know are going to do everything they can to make it a winning organization again...
