The Flyers are not going to turn it around. I think Forseberg would have helped. I think the team was determined because of the embarassment they faced the last time they played the Sabres. The one thing that really sucks now though is that Holmgren will remain as GM for the rest of the year. Bobby Clarke said how towards the end, he was so burned out that Holmgren was making a lot of the decesions.

I think I agree that Forsberg needs to be in a new situation because, if you really have followed his career, he's never been on a losing team. Sure, his team doesn't always win titles, but they're usually in the hunt. He doesn't like to lose and Philly has become accustomed to that this year.
Could he have handled it better? Sure, but it is what it is. They need to trade him while his value is still high and try to start the rebuilding. Esche needs to go as well.

They need to trade him while his value is still high and try to start the rebuilding. Esche needs to go as well. Or just wait for his contract to run out (This is his last year in his deal) because I doubt anybody has the financial flexibility to acquire him during the season, and if there is a team that would be willing to keep him for one year, they're probably not in the playoffs seeing how you have to spen a little to win a little. And Holmgren would not have the balls to trade Esche, whether it was better for the team or not. Remember, Holmgren isn't locked up, he's just free to call the shots for at least a year, and then Snyder can just as easily hire someone else. But unless there's also a deal lined up where the Flyers are getting someone like Nabokov, it won't happen, because Nittimaki's progress has not been strong enough at this point to just throw away his insurance policy...

Well if it was truly a good insurance policy, then there wouldn't need to be talk of dealing him.

There have been talks of Forseberg going up to Calgary to be a set up man for Iginla. I forget who all was mentioned in the deal.

Also, the Flyers got Todd Fedoruk back again. We got him for a 4th round pick.

Flyers re-acquire Todd Fedoruk... why? Who the hell knows...
I wouldn't be surprised if Forsberg ends up in Toronto or Ottawa... the more I think about it Calgary would be an interesting place for Forsberg to go.
Edit: wow Freak totally beat me to that... I feel retarded... but still, what freakin sense does this make getting him? What did that accomplish?

It is really hard to figure out because Philadelphia Fans and Calgary Fans are similar. Fire this guy because he missed a shot, etc.

But I think the Flames would benefit much more than the Flyers at this point. At least the Flames seem to have the parts in place to make a run, they just need someone to play with Iginla. Hell, put Forsberg in the middle of him and Tanguay (back on the wing where he belongs) and you'd have yourself a pretty potent line.

I disagree. We know they wouldn't do Iginla for Forsberg simply because Iginla is the heart of that team. Tanguay maybe but they'd have to package him and something else. I could see them dealing a package of prospects like maybe Chuck Kobasew, Brent Krahn and some picks. A long shot on maybe Phaneuf and a pick.

well they have to get some cap room, Forsberg is paid almost 6 millions and calgary does not have that much cap room.

Sprew, that's what I was thinking before. I don't know how flexible the salary cap is in hockey when it comes to trades...
Oh, and 10-0-0 on the road baby!

The man who made a lot of the choices alongside Bobby Clarke. In that case, the Flyers might get NHL '07 in exchange for Forseberg.

Well at least the guys would be entertained, ya know? Yeah I know. If we have some games like we had against the Sens a few years ago, I think the fans would be much happier with the terrible record.

If Buffalo loses this damn game because of a goal scored thanks to a high stick, I'm gonna kill somebody...
