I know we have a regular season thread, but this kid deserves his own. www.sportsline.com/nhl/story/9771127He has scored in each of his first six games in the NHL, becoming the first player in 89 years to do so. My question: down the road....just how good could this kid be? He's only 20 years old!

The real question is how close to suicide do you think GM Ray Shero will be when he has to watch Malkin and Crosby, not to mention Staal and Fleury, leave via free agency?

Last year I thought to myself how sick it would be if Washington would have taken Malkin and the Pens would have gotten Ovechkin with Crosby. But this year, I seriously think Malkin may end up being the best of his class.
If Crosby and Malkin can get on the same line and maybe add a support (I'm thinking someone like a Mike Bell in the San Jose line) and Fleury playing consistent, this team is a definite cup-contender in 3 years. Butl ike Fette's said, we're probably not going to see everyone of those pieces still in Pittsburgh...
