Halpren scores 24 seconds into the game to give Dallas a 1-0 lead and Lundvqist scores 45 seconds into the 2nd to make it 2-0.
Forsberg and JP Dumont tore it up for the Preds, and if you can't tell by the penalties shown in the box score, the game was rough as hell with 25 penalties for I believe 140+ minutes. And Thornton was shut down...

Jesus, you'd think after the first 15 times of skating in, shooting and it hitting a d-man, we'd have tried something else.

So....did someone say we were gonna lose this series? I think we're pretty safe, scoring 2 goals within the first 5 minutes.
Calgary is just overwhelmed out there.

I just want to point out I've now watched more NHL than NBA this year due to watching every playoff game I've been able to. I never get to really watch the NHL till the playoffs and I'm kind of impressed by it, really entertaining. That is all, and go Ottawa maybe?

I hope you burn... of course, if they win their first round series, I'll gladly watch the Sabres destroy them in the 2nd round... Phaneuf scores for the Flames to cut the lead to 2-1 in Detroit. Kiprusoff has 34 saves while Hasek has 10...

Detroit got a easy team to play against... I turely believe the Flyers killed hollowed out the bodys of the flames and are just playing inside the flames bodies because...well the flames suck ass right now and so do the flyers

Pens and Sens tied at one after one. Gary Roberts is playing out of his mind since joining the Pens... of course, Sidney Crosby can do that to you...

Sidney Crosby can also force you to join a cult that sacrifices small animals.
Anyway, the NHL has what 6/8 series tied so far? I don't know any other sport that matches this. The competition level has stayed level, not only that but we are guranteed a new Stanley Cup winner. This is awesome. If your team has a bad season, they have a good shot the next season. I love this game.

Yeah, not only is Carolina not in, but the runner-up Edmonton is out. And it's actually 5 of 8 tied, but two of them are 1-8 and 2-7 which should be expected especially for how dominant Detroit and Anaheim are. New York is just playing a sucky team, and it's not like they'll have much of a shot against the Devils or even the Lightning.
Sabres and Isles play tomorrow night on Versus. If you want to see Stanley Cup hockey, hopefully the Sabres will have woken up and light DiPietro and his 15 year contract up. Then after that, watch San Jose-Nashville, to see who will take Detroit to 7 games in the next round...
Comrie scores to make it 2-1 Sens...

I'm rooting for Islanders and Tampa Bay to pull off some upsets. Don't think it's going to happen, but the games have been fun to watch so far...

I'd like to know when DiPietro decided to start living up to that ridiculous deal?

Ducks go up 3-0 on the Wild. The way that defense is playing and how Bryzgolov is shutting everything down, they're playing like they did from October to December, minus the countless OT losses.
Canucks take 2-1 lead in the series over Dallas. Poor Marty Turco. The one series he doesn't choke, his team plays like crap...

Sharks looked to overwhelm the Preds as they take a 2-1 lead in the series.
Buffalo held off the Isles despite looking pretty flat for the latter half of the game. Hopefully they show more fire in game 4.

Buffalo has looked a little shaky out there in games 2 & 3. I'm worried for them against a more formidable opponent, but they're fully capable of picking it up and smothering someone.
Less than 12 hours to the Red Wings...

Someone said, and I can't remember who, that the Sabres played pretty average and still won. For stretches at a time, they stopped skating and just looked like they were playing to the Isles level. If they turn on the jets and skate their asses off, they'll beat anyone.

Isles fans moved up in my book after last night. For not being in a superior hockey market, the fans throwing crap on the ice showed that they give a damn about the team, and if they ever escape mediocrity, they'll have a very strong fanbase...
