My Top 5 for the year: 1. "Strange House"- The Horrors 2. "Icky Thump" - The White Stripes 3. "Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?" - Of Montreal 4. "The Sun and The Moon" - The Bravery 5. "Our Love To Admire" - Interpol Honorable Mention: "A Weekend In The City" - Bloc Party Would I like the Horrors? I'm big into UK stuff, but it seems like it might be too hard for me. They are really good in my opinion... alot of people hate them because of how they dress and look but I think they are great musicians... they don't do anything overly amazing in sorts of talent they just make great songs... but they are kind of harder but not in a rock/metal sense they are just loud, raw and garage rock to its best. If you are on aim anytime I am I can send you thier whole album "strange house"

This morning, my computer died. My backup disk was corrupted. I lost 18 gigs of music. I feel like killing myself.

By the way, after reading you listened to Kevin Devine, I started listening to him. He's great, if you haven't heard of Ray Lamontagne, you should, same type of sound.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to be able to check out new music for a while. My problem is, I buy CD's and I sell them back to used stores, so that I can keep buying them, as I only need a ripped copy. So I'm going to have to spend forever trying to get my Radiohead, Modest Mouse, Kevin Devine, and Brand New Collections back before I even think about where to go from there, and even then I'm missing tons of my favorite bands.

I saw today that the documentary 'Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten' will be coming to the U.S. on November 8th. I've heard good things about this and think it will be great. I've always slightly favored The Clash to The Ramones so this is right up my alley.

Okay, I hopped on the Four Year Strong leak hoping that I could get a ratio boost (I did), but my real point is: Four Year Strong's Rise or Die Trying is the best pop punk record since Take This to Your Grave.

Weekly Update: Last.fmBruce Springsteen (3 Users) Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Eminem, Queen, Led Zepplin, Foo Fighters, Incubus, Bad Religion, Bon Jovi, Blink-182, Billy Joel, Tom Petty, The Who, Arctic Monkeys, My Chemical Romance (2 Users) To Check Out This WeekFour Year Strong - Rise or Die TryingMy favorite pop punk album of this year, Four Year Strong has brought a harder sound to a genre that's getting weaker and weaker with every cookie-cutter MTV band. Gang vocals are plenty, and the drumming is nothing you'd expect from the genre, but Four Year Strong pulls it off. The Weakerthans - Reunion TourI can't categorize this band, aside from the fact that I would find it really hard to believe there is someone who could NOT enjoy them. Absolutely brilliant lyrics, and a sound unique. They're listed as "Folk Punk" for a reason The AbsolutePunk Forum Members Compilation: Vol. 2I can't stress how good this compilation is. All unsigned acts, 20 songs, one free download. There is something for everyone on here. A06 is an incredible band, their album is being produced by the same guy who did The Dear Hunter. The whole band concept is based on a robot, so I don't think things get much cooler there. For fans of lighter music, the songs by Fourteen Forever, Thomas McCarthy, and Little Drawings will certainly do the trick. Great stuff, everyone should download it.

I just saw The Format, Piebald, Steel Train, Limbeck, and Reuben's Accomplice live, and I think my life has been changed forever. I even talked with Sam from The Format about just how manly his beard is.

I saw the Family Values Tour on Friday and it was freakin amazing. Really the only band I didn't enjoy was Trivium. It was sweet that they put The Vanished on the tour for thier Texas run (idk if they are national, but they get some airtime here in Dallas, because they are from here), I really like there song the Longest Goodbye. Hell Yeah was amazing. Chad Gray is amazing vocalist, and a great entertainer, and it was great to see Vinnie Paul back in Dallas. Flyleaf and Neurosonic, and Evanescence were ok, but Hell Yeah, Atreyu, and Korn kicked major ass. If you are into hard rock/metal/nu-metal music, GO SEE IT.

I saw The Format live last weekend and it was the best night of my life. Also Steel Train's new album will be awesome, in the genre-defying sense. Anyone will have to like that album. Also their lead singer dated Scarlett Johansson, which counts for something. Seriously though, best show I have ever seen, everyone was incredible, Piebald, Steel Train, Limbeck, and especially The Format. Then Piebald announces their break-up the next day. And now Down to Earth Approach. Shitty week for break-ups. Also, here's my current list for 2007 releases. Best to Worst: 2007 If people give it a look, I'd love feedback, or recommendations for albums I've missed (unless it's really mainstream, in which case if I don't have it listed, I've missed it for a reaskon). From that list though, I encourage everyone to check out Matthew Good's album, I think there's something for most everyone on there. But for people who aren't like Indie/Folk Rock fans, there's other stuff on their too. If you're into "harder" stuff, I strongly recommend The Dear Hunter. Hell, anyone should listen to that, it's actually a decent rock opera. Pop-punk fans need to hear Four Year Strong. Pop fans should listen to Tegan and Sara. I could go on, and on, and on...

I downloaded the new Aiden album Tuesday and have just been listening to that over the past couple days. I'm about to get that punk mix keeper posted now.

I found a link to a leaked verison of Atreyu's new album. It's pretty good, but it's a different direction for them. They dropped the hardcore sound they had, so that means they dropped the screaming. (A lot of people like that decision but I liked them the way they were) Still a pretty decent album, but it's not as good as their other stuff.

Thrice is the only "harder" band doing anything creative anymore.

For those interested... Chiodos leaked tonight. I doubt I'll ever listen to it, but I jumped on it for the ratio boost.
Also, that "Bad Boys of Rock" tour is in my hometown tonight, and god is it awful. I've been trying to drown out Buckcherry, Papa Roach, and Hinder for nearly two hours.
