2007 High School Football Thread

Figured I would start this since my first game is next week.

I will be the starting corner on JV this season and will be a running back on occasion. I guess my team is going to have a pretty good year, probably better then last season.

We run the Wing-T and I hate it. We pass maybe once in a game if we are lucky.

About time this thread got started. On Varsity it's awesome but it's so effin gay.

We've been practicing and doing two-a-days (til school started last week) for a while now so I've been in the 'wow this is gay mode', then when football season is over I'll be in the 'this was the greatest year ever, can't wait for football next season!' mode.

But yeah right now I'm 3rd string FS and SS. Missing 3 weeks of 7 on 7 and weights during the summer because of my parent's divorce effed me up, but i'm slowly working my way up the depth chart. We got two weeks til our jamboree, and we open our season in 'The Pit' (Area's big stadium) vs Salinas High a pretty good team.

My school, state runner ups last year. Lost way to many seniors. I'm not expecting that great of a year.

at my school we play 8 man football...we look to be a lot better than last year...we put pads on thursday but we've been practicing since July and our first game is the 31st

we just finished last day of two a days today which is saddeniing for us seniors. We start full pads tomorrow which I will not be going full pads because i cant even do a light jog rite now because of Hip bursitis and a pinched nerve in my back, and a bulging disc.

Im hoping I will be able to come back by second of third game of the season because I actually have a chance to play this year at receiver, but this isn't helping me. Last year I had to sit out last 4 games because of seperated shoulder, if this shit sets me out for the whole season Ill prolly cry lol, I hate missin shit.

Anyways were gon be pretty good this year we've got sophomores running 4.5 40's and our corner, terrance thomas who ive been trying to get to summer shit all summer finally came to his first day of football with us for two a days. heres his stuff on rivals footballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=54819&sport=1.

My old school, and sis's current school is going to be pretty good this year. Very run oriented team, but we have two juniors who are already being kind of recruited by some big schools. If they can keep their grades up, they'll be four star backs next year.

The only problem is, this new district they are in is brutal. East St. John HS, Destrahan, St. Amant, East Ascension, ect are all pretty good. East St. John for example, was the number one seed in the state in the playoffs. Should be fun to hear about it.

Well, we have a bye this week, then we open up next week.

I'm starting at WR on JV, and I'm 2nd string on varsity as a sophomore this year. I am also punting on JV, and I'm a gunner on punts for varsity.

I can't wait for this season. I am #7 on JV (For Ted Ginn baby), and #11 on Varsity (For Anthony Gonzalez, since #7 is taken by a senior.

We should win the conference for varsity, but we won't be as good for JV.

Awesome Chris, I was going to play FS only and I was going to be 2nd string on varsity and start all the JV games, but from reports I'm hearing now I could have easily started 1st string for our team because our current 1st string FS has no clue what he is doing.

Taking this year off, my grandma got out of the hospital so I missed a week, then yesterday my dad was in surgery, then today my grandma was hospitilized for internal bleeding and my step-brother is in the hospital for seizures. So I chose to sit it out, since I would miss the first 3 weeks and have no chance starting, at least I can lift and come back for JV next year.

First JV game tonight.

We beat Berry 45-0. I had one receiving touchdown, one rushing touchdown off of a reverse, and a killer block that sprung our KR for a TD. I had four catches on the day, too. I got in a few plays at safety too, and had one tackle.

Now, just gotta get ready for the Varsity game tommorrow. I'm mostly on special teams on varsity (I'm a sophomore), but if we get up by a lot, which I expect us to, I should see some playing time.

I won't be playing this year, I declined the scholarship, but just wanted you guys to know that I will be part of the best football games in the nation on the 3rd deck of Kyle Field.

Varsity won 36-7.

I didn't touch the ball at all, but I had a nice block that sprung one of our running backs.

We beat Thornapple Kellogg last night 22-0.

Didn't think we were going to play. Tornado warning delayed us for about an hour. Was worth it though. Great game. Missed a 47 yard TD by one yard. Guy got me at the one.

Our defense is awesome.

For JV this week, we lost 14-6. I was facing double coverage all game, but I still had a touchdown on a reverse, mostly because we did it on a toss play and the defense was totally fooled.

For Varsity, we won 28-14, I got in a few plays on special teams and had one tackle on a punt return.

We are 3-0. Won last night on the road 40-12.

Our defense is absolutely amazing. Our offense had a good game last game as well. We were 5-4 last year, but this year we are coming right out of the gates.

I have 17 tackles in 3 games. No interceptions yet. They haven't thrown my way too much.

I'm the starting corner on varsity. We're 2-0 and just beat the #3 team in the state and defneding state champions last night 17-14. I've had an interception and 11 tackles.
