with a 3-2 finish expected you'll get a bowl bid for sure... and if you can pull an upset an 8-4 record could get a late december game I was thinking the same, but I cant say I would be unhappy with a decent bowl game and a 7-5 record. Its the progression in the future I'm most concerned about. NOTE: Kansas State recap on end of page 2.

well I would say so far you've won the games you were supposed to win, not to say you shouldn't have won the games you lost but they were better teams...now as you progress through, you will bring in better talent and become a Big 12 power

Oklahoma State (6-3) 38-17 #19 Oklahoma (6-3) Who's Ya Daddy Now?! #19 Oklahoma Exposed By In-State RivalNorman, OK -- This season has not been anywhere near what Sooner fans were expecting. Almost a year removed from the infamous Fiesta Bowl game loss to Boise State, Oklahoma hasn't seemed to recover. Games too close for comfort against Tulsa, and Colorado were only the beginning. The Sooners would follow that up with losses against both rivals Texas, and Missouri, both of which were at home. Oklahoma would get back on track with an easy contest against Iowa State before hosting in-state rival Oklahoma State, a rivalry in which the Sooners have traditionally dominated and hadn't lost since 2001. Things sure didn't get off to the kind of start Oklahoma was hoping for, when they began on offense with a quick three and out to setup an early Oklahoma State touchdown. The Cowboys looked focused, and drove down the field with ease finishing the drive on a seven yard touchdown pass. Oklahoma would fire right back with one of their own as quarterback Joey Halzle hit wide receiver Juaquin Iglesias for a six yard touchdown. An exciting start to the first quarter would diminish for both offenses when each of them traded interceptions. Bobby Reid would make up for his mistake, something that he hasn't done much of this season. Something he hasn't done as in making up for the mistakes, not making them. Anyway, Reid would make up for it this time, and threw a twenty-eight yard touchdown strike to Adarius Bowman for the lead. Bowman made the play bigger expected when he broke off a strong hit by the safety and trotted into the endzone. Despite the Sooners being unable to answer on offense, they still managed to tie the game before the end of the half. Bobby Reid would continue his see-saw battle of touchdown to interception ratio with an interception by cornerback D.J. Wolfe. Wolfe, with only nineteen seconds remaining returned the interception eighty-five yards to tie the game. Stumped by his costly mistake, Reid came through once again. Obviously stepping up his play for this storied rivalry, the scrambling quarterback rushed for twenty yards on the opening drive of the second half. He then found wideout Tommy Devereaux for a seventeen yard touchdown pass making the score 21-14 Oklahoma State. Sooners quarterback Joey Halzle took a page out of Bobby Reid's book, and would throw an interception into the hands of star safety Donovan Woods. Woods, who had already picked Halzle off in the endzone earlier, returned his second pick for a fifty-six yard touchdown to give the Cowboys their biggest lead of the day. Oklahoma, down by two touchdowns and feeling the momentum of the Cowboys in their own home front would begin to close the gap. Unfortunately for the Sooners, they would only shorten the lead by three points after a field goal by Garrett Hartley from forty-three yards out. After a punt by Oklahoma State, the Sooners had a great opportunity to get within one score. Instead, Cowboys safety Donovan Woods would complete his road to stardom with this game. Joey Halzle, who has already thrown two picks into the hands of Woods, decided to scramble away from pressure. Halzle was hit by defensive end Nathan Peterson and coughed up the football. Woods was there to recover, and took the fumble back for a forty-six yard touchdown to blow the game wide open. Oklahoma was in desperation from that point on, and knew it was over. Oklahoma State held them scoreless from that point on and won the game 38-17, marking the Cowboys first win over their in-state rival since 2001 with head coach Les Miles, also known as the "Giant Killer" in those days. Donovan Woods changed the game the most with two interception, a fumble recovery, and two defensive touchdowns. Not only did he score twice, but also might have took away a score from Oklahoma with an interception in the endzone early in the game. Next for a rowdy Oklahoma State program will be #10 Texas, who is coming off of their first loss of the season. The Longhorns hopes of a National Championship were stopped short by #18 Nebraska, who had gave Texas A&M their first loss the week prior to this one. Van Zant, who had five interceptions and three defensive scores on the year joined nickelback Jacob Lacey on the injury report. Martel was in on a tackle in the fourth quarter before coming out of the game with a broken wrist. The injury will keep him out at least five weeks, meaning the only chance for one last game with the senior would be in a bowl game. Martel also had an interception in the Oklahoma game before leaving with the injury. While Oklahoma State got the bad news on defense, they got great news about their future offense. Four-star runningback Jim Hodges was so impressed with the Cowboys upset over Oklahoma that he finally committed, making himself Coach Gundy's first recruit of the 2008 class and of the dynasty. Hodges resides in his hometown of Louisville, Mississippi and was ranked 57th in the Rivals100. A 5'11" 207 lbs back, Hodges was graded an A+ in acceleration, and a B+ in speed. Nebraska has made a statement towards the Big 12 South division this year, and that is their not as tough as they look. The Huskers may be right, considering three of their four conference wins have been against Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma State. If Bill Callahan's team can continue this kind of momentum, we may finally see a Big 12 champion out of the North division again. The Cornhuskers took complete control of this game from start to finish, and completely surprised #3 Texas. Sam Keller helped lead the upset once again, with 258 yards passing and three touchdowns. Texas, who was hoping to get back into the National Championship game this year are now most likely waiting until next season. These two could meet again if the Big 12 Championship matchup pits the two together later in the season. Pistol Pete Thinks He Can Dance Catch The Cowboys Mascot On Television This SummerHollywood, CA -- As a mascot for any team you should never break character. Pistol Pete, the Oklahoma State Cowboys mascot has been seen busting out dance moves lately as touchdown celebrations. Most notably in the Oklahoma upset, where Pistol began to actually break dance in front of the crowd in Norman as you can see above. "I couldn't believe he did it," says Mike Gundy, head coach of the Oklahoma State football team. "He was break dancing in front of the Sooner crowd for about five minutes before he was struck by a cup of soda thrown by one of their ignorant fans." Quarterback Bobby Reid was also impressed with Pistol's sudden dance moves. "I went over to him on the sideline and asked him if he could teach me a few of his moves, you know for like when the players hit the club. I would ask him if he wanted to come with us, but I aint lettin' him make me look bad in front of the ladies." Pistol impressed so many people that he got up the courage to become a participant in the Fox television show "So You Think You Can Dance". Pistol pleased just about everyone who witnessed the break dance, except of course the Oklahoma Sooners fans. Former NFL, and Oklahoma State runningback Barry Sanders was at the game and was heard saying that he believed Pistol Pete could even give Emmitt Smith a run for his money, who had won the contest in the television show "Dancing With The Stars". It's unknown exactly how far Pistol Pete will make it in the shows contest, but we will be able to find out this summer when the show airs on Fox. All that we do know at this time is that he didn't break character, and instead went on the show with his mascot uniform on.

#10 Texas (9-1) 34-24 Oklahoma State (6-4) Comin' Down Longhorns Knock Cowboys Off Cloud NineStillwater, OK -- Oklahoma State was clearly still on their high horse and full of swagger after the upset of in-state rival Oklahoma last week. Coach Gundy stressed that the players would have to focus on this week now though, you know especially considering their opponent was #10 Texas. The Longhorns didn't look like they were in the same loving mood, instead a bit ticked off at losing last week against Nebraska. Leak decided to give the Heisman difficulty its first try, and with a little tweaking of the sliders he may have already gotten things just right. Enough of that though, because we had a game to play, a very important one of the Cowboys program. Were they ready to take out both Oklahoma and Texas in the same season? #10 Texas gave the answer away rather quick, and simply man-handled Oklahoma State in the first half. Longhorns quarterback Colt McCoy wasted no time, and would throw two touchdowns in the first quarter. One of which was caught by tight end Jermichael Finley on a fifty one yard pass on the first play of the game. The other was a bit of a surprise, caught by offensive lineman Michael Huey, a three hundred pound tackle lined up at tight end. While Texas was bustin' out tricks, Oklahoma State couldn't afford to even attempt one. The Cowboys were getting nearly nothing offensively until finally getting on the board with a thirty-four yard field goal. Three points sure wasn't going to slow the Longhorns down, and they would continue to dominate. A one yard touchdown run by Vondrell McGee and a field goal put Oklahoma State in a huge hole already in only the second quarter. Texas went into the tunnel with a 24-3 lead at the half, marking the biggest deficit for the Cowboys this season. Going from upsetting their rival to getting beatdown, Coach Gundy felt his players were lacking emotion and motivation. A sour talk at halftime must have picked his players heads up, because a different team came back on the field in the second half. Bobby Reid got things started, despite throwing three interceptions in the first half. Reid connected with wide receiver Tommy Devereaux for a forty-seven yard touchdown. Texas would then make a silly mistake on offense giving Vondrell McGee a chance to throw the ball on a trick play, and he was intercepted. Cornerback Perrish Cox made the interception and returned it for a sixty-five yard touchdown to put Oklahoma State within seven. Colt McCoy would turn it back over to the Cowboys, and give them a shot at tying the game. Unfortunately, Bobby Reid felt it was necessary to force a pass in the endzone, and it resulted in his fourth completion to the Longhorns secondary. As the fourth quarter began Oklahoma State still had the momentum yet were still trailing by a touchdown. Fifteen seconds later Tommy Devereaux made another huge play, and blew right past the Texas corners on his way to the game-tying sixty-two yard touchdown reception. A hostile crowd made Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns feel the pressures of possibly losing a second straight game. Texas wouldn't let this one totally slip away though, and re-took their lead on an eight yard touchdown pass from McCoy to Billy Pittman. Oklahoma State would have one last shot on offense, but this time without Bobby Reid for a few plays. Zac Robinson, the backup quarterback and hero earlier this season came into the game. Unlike last time, he was unable to throw a huge touchdown and instead threw a huge interception, possibly costing the Cowboys the game. The Longhorns were able to add the game-clinching field goal with eighteen seconds left to put the upset bid away. "Sure, this was a hard fought loss, but I'm proud of my guys for the way they didn't give up in the second half," Coach Gundy said after the game. Oklahoma State put together two great games against the two Big 12 powerhouses and will now get to finish off the regular season against Kansas (3-6), and Baylor (1-9) before finding out their bowl game competitor. Check out this weeks video beloweasportsworld.com/#video-17954/HOME/10367Backup QB Zac Robinson couldn't be the hero this time Individual Stats QB Colt McCoy - 15/23 217 yds 3 TD 2 INT RB Vondrell McGee - 23 Car 81 yds TD CB Deon Beasley - 5 Tack 3 INT QB Bobby Reid - 12/21 232 yds 2 TD 4 INT WR Tommy Devereaux - 2 Rec 109 yds 2 TD CB Perrish Cox - 3 Tack INT TD Oregon State Stuns #1 USC It looks like Pete Carroll and USC will be watching another National Championship at home this year. That's because Pac-10 foe Oregon State pulled off the huge upset 36-35 this weekend, knocking the Trojans off the top of the polls. They finished them off with the legs off all-american kicker Alexis Serna, on a game-winning forty-eight yard field goal. In fact, they even name the star kicker as Oregon State's player of the game with three field goals, and the clutch game-winner. If there was anybody to blame, it surely was not John David Booty. The Southern Cal quarterback threw for four touchdowns on the day. USC's rushing attack didn't far out so well, with less than eighty yards rushing and no prime runningback stats. Bob Stoops Or Bob Stumped? Oklahoma just went from Top 10 to the bottom of the Big 12 within weeks. First it was a loss to Texas, and then turned into losses against Missouri the following week, a loss to in-state rival Oklahoma State, and now a loss to Texas A&M. This wasn't just a fourth loss in five weeks, it was a spanking. The Aggies basically leaned the Sooners over their knee and began to whack at the backside. Texas A&M would blow out Oklahoma 50-10, and get this: at Norman. That marks all four losses at home, and all against Big 12 competition. Bob Stoops and the Oklahoma better be careful and fix this soon, because they are falling, and fast. Many believe they still haven't recovered from the infamous Boise State loss, and may still have that sour taste left in their mouth of watching Ian Johnson propose soon after scoring the game-winning touchdown in the Fiesta Bowl last season. Oh, and by the way Sooners fans those Broncos are ranked sixth in the nation and still haven't lost. Especially Baylor. I got so tired about seeing them lose and reporting it on Big 12 News I wrote this about them: "Baylor just sucks badly, Texas Tech beats them" Lets just hope I don't eat my own words.

Kansas (4-6) 26-21 Oklahoma State (6-5) Jayhawks With The Upset! Oklahoma State Clearly Slept On KansasStillwater, OK -- Finally, the final two weeks of the season that the Cowboys had been waiting for. What better way than to host a weak Kansas team at home, and then travel to Waco for an even weaker Baylor squad. As Oklahoma State soon found out, boy were they clearly mistaken. An injury to runningback Dantrell Savage on the second play was a depressing start, especially when they found out he'd miss the rest of this game, and next weeks. The Cowboys just did without though, and backup halfback Julius Crosslin ran in the opening score from one yard out. Jayhawks quarterback Kerry Meier immediately got his team on track offensively. It wouldn't be long before the game was tied on a fifteen yard touchdown pass to Marcus Herford. Despite the slippery, snowy conditions both teams looked to be moving pretty easily. Oklahoma State drove down the field once again, until Bobby Reid began to pull out his old tricks and throw an interception in the endzone. Kansas took advantage, and instead they were the ones to take the lead on a twenty-seven yard field goal by Scott Webb. That would be a name that Cowboys fan would later remember after the game. Without panicking Bobby Reid took the team down the field, and this time would finish it off with points on the board. Slot receiver Jeremy Broadway was the recipient of the eleven yard touchdown to re-take the lead. Kansas, with just under two minutes clearly wanted to make an early statement. The Cowboys looked rusty on defense, and the Jayhawks took advantage throughout the game. Especially wide receiver Marcus Herford who caught a second touchdown pass from eleven yards out to give Kansas the lead 17-14 before halftime. A disappointed crowd and Cowboys team went back into the tunnel clearly unhappy with the score. Many were expecting this game to be an easy win for Oklahoma State, not for them to be trailing at halftime. Some of the Cowboys visiting recruits weren't too impressed either. Thats when Kansas really started to turn to special teams, and neither team was seeing much of the endzone. Scott Webb would kick through a forty-seven yarder to put Kansas up by six points. A big play thirty seconds later on a forty-four yard touchdown on an option play by Julius Crosslin gave the Cowboys a one point lead and momentum. Oklahoma State was expecting to take over and pull away from there, but Kansas never let up. Instead, the Jayhawks got back on top with a huge fifty-two yard field goal from Webb, his third of the day. The attempt was a huge risk on offense, but Webb put it through even in the snowy conditions and on the road. Bobby Reid then followed that off with another interception thrown, losing all momentum Oklahoma State had left. Kansas couldn't quite pull too far away, but another field goal by Scott Webb increased the lead to five. That's when the Cowboys got greedy, and with a chance to kick a field goal on fourth down decided to go for it on fourth and eight. It proved to be a bad decision when Reid was stopped one yard short of scrambling for the first. Kansas would never take full advantage though, and instead punted back to Oklahoma State for one last chance. With one last chance to win this game, Oklahoma State struck on some huge plays to get into Kansas territory. Unfortunately, that is when it began to go downhill. First, a delay of game penalty. Then, two incomplete passes forced a third and fifteen. Adarius Bowman would make a huge play though, and get the first down and more leading the Cowboys to the twenty-five yard line. Bobby Reid would make the crucial mistake of throwing a game interception once again though, picked off by safety Tang Bacheyie. Just as it appeared the game was over Bacheyie coughed up the football while being tackled, and the Cowboys recovered! Given a huge gift and just twenty-nine seconds with no timeouts, Oklahoma State needed a big play. Instead, it was Kansas who made another huge play when Reid was sacked by defensive end John Larson. The clock ran all the way down to five seconds for one last play, Reid would try to find wide receiver Jeremy Broadway in the endzone for the win, but the pass was incomplete. Just like that, it became a reality that Oklahoma State had just lost to Kansas at home. Followed by a bunch of cuss words at the television and a couple smacks on his football, Leak felt the ultimate disgust feeling losing this game. "All of that confidence this season that we would easily win these last two games went right down the drain". Oklahoma State should be able to rebound next week, although we better not assume anything anymore. The Cowboys travel to Waco, Texas to take on the ultimate Big 12 doormat, Baylor. The bad news Bears are 1-10, and "better finish the season 1-11" says Coach Gundy. Check out this weeks video beloweasportsworld.com/#video-17954/HOME/10367Bobby Reid intercepted at end of the game, but saved by fumble Individual Stats QB Kerry Meier - 21/29 325 yds 2 TD 1 INT WR Marcus Herford - 7 Rec 91 yds 2 TD CB Agib Talib - 5 Tack Sack INT QB Bobby Reid - 14/21 285 yds TD 2 INT RB Julius Crosslin - 8 Car 74 yds 2 TD MLB Rodrick Johnson - 13 Tack Sack #2 Michigan Takes Out #1 Wisconsin The Big Ten had the sort of feeling like they had been in this position before, and so did Michigan. Just like last years #1 vs. #2 matchup between Ohio State and Michigan, the Big Ten once again was hosting the top two teams late in the season. This time it was a week before the Michigan-Ohio State game. Wisconsin surprised most of the nation with their #1 ranking over Michigan. In the end, the Wolverines proved that they should have been the ones #1 in a 38-7 beating. The Badgers never had the lead, but did stick around until Michigan's twenty-one point fourth quarter. Rednek's Red Raiders put up 41 points and played to their exact gameplan, but only the greatest teams can still win and play their opponents style, and thats just what Texas did. The high-scoring plan kind of backfired actually, and Colt McCoy used it to boost his heisman candidacy with 395 yards passing and four touchdowns. Graham Harrell didn't have too bad a game neither, throwing four of his own touchdowns. #10 Texas moves to 10-1 on the season with the 56-41 victory. I got a question for you guys. Since it seems everybody who is reading this is pretty much at MM anyway, should I just post my updates there and link my thread on my sig? I know Darjar already did this and I've been thinking of doing the same. You can't do shit on the coding on our forums unfortunately so I'm always stuck editing everything. If you guys could just let me know. Now, replying on the posts. Bama, I know this isn't basketball, although after that I game I was wishing it was I couldn't believe we had lost to the frickin' Jayhawks at home. Yankee, I should have just kept my mouth closed last night. I pretty much jinxed myself about Kansas. Baylor got a nice ass kickin to make up for it, though.

Some 2012 Notes for myself and anyone following...
*QB Frank Jones, a 2-star recruit out of HS, finishes his career with 8,335 yards, 93 TDs, and 46 INTs. Both his career yardage, and touchdown passes break marks previously held by head coach Mike Gundy. Jones was rated a 71 after recruitment, and finishes his career a 92 with an 87 speed as a redshirt senior.
*2012 marked the first year of offensive coordinator Blake Short. Short, who was previously a graduate out of the University of Florida, finishes his first season leading his offense past his former school and totaling 66 points in the championship game. Short intends to stick with the spread offense.
*WR Blake Murphy could most likely be leaving early after his spectacular season. He would be one of the top wideouts in the draft, but the chance to break many receiving records could encourage him to stay for his senior season.
*FS Dave Armstrong finishes the season with seven interceptions and the Jim Thorpe award. Armstrong, who was a four-year starter but was injured most of last season, finishes his last game of his collegiate career in the National Championship with two interceptions. He also got an interception in the Big 12 title game.
*West Virginia, Southern Cal, and Ohio State offered Mike Gundy coaching jobs during the offseason. Surprisingly, I decided to stick with the Cowboys despite a very enticing job at USC. How could you turn down USC? Well, somehow, I did. Also, what's up with Ohio State practically stalking me? This is two years straight with the offers, leave me alone.
