Glad Germany lost. Now Portugal will be going home earlier than expected in the quarter finals! Woo! What made you think Germany can hang with Portugal? Klose has been terrible. Ballack has looked out of it. Lahm is getting exposed on the right. They looked awful today. As of now, Portugal would run over them. |

My extreme hatred of Portugal. I know they wouldn't be given much of a chance, but the earlier Portugal is out the better IMO. They would need a big game from PodGOALski to have a chance though.

David, what are you doing in Europe right now? Croatia was excellent today. study abroad trip. The first month is spent going through ten different cities or so and then the second month I have to take two classes at oxford. |

Podolski won't do it alone. They need Ballack, Frings, Klose, and Mario Gomez (who has looked terrible) to play well too. |

Its a Dutch oven and the French are toast!
That was a great game .. now rest the stars and have Romania win. Better than I could ever dream for Italy AND France both out.

No one above him, but Cech and Casillas are right there. There is no clear #1. Agree with the names mentioned, but I think Buffon's winning puts him ahead. |

That was the most exciting game I've watched this year. By that... I mean in terms of any sport I sat down and watched this year. 3 goals by Turkey in 15 minutes, against Peter Cech of all goalies. Awesome...

Cech has always been so incredibly over-rated, he is a solid keeper but unless I had a great backline, there are a host of others I would take before him.

Like I said. Buffon is the best. I agree with Keeper, I've rarely seen him make a spectacular save. Most everything he does is a credit to his defenders.

Buffon is definitely one of the best in the game. To be honest though, if I had to pick one keeper, I genuinely would take Brad Friedel, has kept countless cleansheets with absolutely zero help from his defenders.
