Because of my dad, but I'm considering moving over to engineering. it's where the party is. I get bored with stuff really easy. So I'm cautious because it seems kind of boring sometimes. Still, I've got the kind of background few have at my age.

Ok gents, just got back from the movie and must say YOU ALL GOT TO SEE IT!!!!!!!!!
It was BADASS. The Joker was badass....Heath really must of turned into him because the dude was fukin SICK. Not to mention the Joker had my heart racing everytime he showed up on the screen. On my way home, I thought about how I couldn't see Heath as the Joker. All I could see was a maniac in messed up paint and a purple blazer that cared less about others and those around him.
I dont want to give out too many spoilers but this movie was one of the best I've seen in quite a while. I'd prolly see it again in a theather and will definetly cop it on DVD.

Alright heres a review, its a bit wordy but it gets the feeling across
"Dark" doesn't begin to do justice to the tone of this film. Christopher Nolan, Jonathan Nolan and David S. Goyer have created a world in which wearing the mantle of the Bat is a tremendously heavy - and realistically-portrayed - burden. Batman's victories over Gotham City's criminal element are Pyrrhic in nature - short-lived and a threat to further destabilize the precarious balance between law and lawlessness. Any progress Batman makes in stemming the tide of crime is all but ignored, as the public chooses to focus on the brutality of his vigilante methods. Worse still, aside from Lieutenant Jim Gordon and - possibly - a crusading District Attorney named Harvey Dent, there seem to be few Gotham residents willing to publicly step-up and do their part to purge the criminal element from the city. Batman feels as if he is on his own - and he's not sure whether or not the methods he's committed to using are poised to bring further ruin, both to Gotham City and his soul.
It turns out that "the Dark Knight" is right to harbor these anxieties, for his presence has lured a new player to the Gotham City scene: a nihilistic font of terror dubbed the Joker. Where Batman seeks to impose order upon Gotham City, the Joker revels in a pure, unabashed love of chaos. In his embrace of all-out anarchy, the Joker represents a completely different type of evil than any that Batman has ever faced before. As Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred Pennyworth puts it, "Some men aren't looking for anything logical. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn." The Joker is such a man.
Further, he is a man who understands that the presence of a moral force such as Batman "completes" a yin-yang dynamic with his own complete lack of anything approaching scruples. This being the case, there are several questions that The Dark Knight poses. First, just how long can the balance between order and chaos, good and evil be maintained? Can Batman live with what he might have to become in order to effectively combat the Joker and other villains like him? Must a man accept doing the unacceptable in order to wear the mantle of "hero"? If Batman accepts the unacceptable, is the Joker - in fact - victorious?
Quite simply, The Dark Knight is not only the finest film based upon a superhero comic book-based property that I have ever seen, but is one of the best films I've ever seen period. It challenges viewers in ways that such movies rarely do. It is, despite a 2 1/2-hour running time, a briskly-paced film... and one which proves as thought-provoking as it is adrenaline-pumping.
I believe every time The Joker showed on screen I felt nervous on what he will do next and basically what is going to happen. He evokes chaos within me and every viewer in the theater and with out a doubt Heath should be nominated for an Oscar, should win an Oscar and The Dark Knight should WIN best picture.

I'm going to go ahead and say this, if anyone posts spoilers I will have you banned on spot. Then probably use your email and sign it up on a bunch of gay porn sites. I'm not kidding around.

It's 11:42 and I may have already had the movie spoiled. I'm just going to say it involves Harvey Dent. (someone confirm if there is something that would be considered a huge spoiler in the movie, just don't say what for other's sake) Lucky I can always enjoy a good film, no matter if I know the big plot twist. The characters and their interaction matter a lot more than the overlying story for me generally. So if The Joker is everything he's cracked up to be, I'll still love this movie. Just fuck...I'm going to start going to this kind of movie right when it comes out, because water cooler talk I overheard just shit all over me. I'm just hoping, maybe, they just knew I was going to grab some coffee and wanted to fuck with me. I want to have them all fired!

I just don't get why people would talk that openly about a movie this big, that just came out at midnight. There are tons who didn't see it yet.
I'm going to bring in bags of horeshit (there's a field with horses in it near my house) and just sling it all over their office Monday. I'm just so unhappy.

Yeah, my other forum's poilcy was after midnight, just stay out of the thread.
There is something involving Harvey Dent that could be certainly considered a spoiler, though I'm not sure if there's anything that could ruin the movie for someone unless they didn't pay attention to any of the viral marketing at all. Excellent film, Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker is far more chilling than Javier Bardem's award winning performance last year, he crafted one of the most genuinely haunting characters in film history... it's just hard to appreciate it for that, because half the audience is smashed and just wants to see people's shit get ruined through out the whole film.
It's a very strong film, and in a year that has been as weak as this one has been thus far, it could sneak in and grab a best picture nomination, no doubt.

It wasn't that great.
I'm serious. Without such a great performance with The Joker, it's just an above average film at best. I just didn't feel all that emotionally connected to any character. Eh, I'll post more later if you want me to...
The Joker was still amazing though. Best villian in a movie since Silence of the Lambs.

Am I the only one that doesn't get pissed off about hearing spoilers? Hell, I read the entire wiki about it and I'm still pumped to see it.
Honestly I couldn't care two shits if you tell me everything about the movie, if its good I'll still love it.
