I got midnight showing tickets for the 17th/18.

and then I have IMAX tickets on July 19th. I plan on then that 21st, my day off to go see it back-to-back-to-back. The tickets across the nation are already being sold out I've read.

100% on rottentomatoes so far. May well stay there too, every review so far has been very positive. As in, no mentioning of flaws positive. Slowly shaping up to look like the best movie that will come out this year.

when i worked at the movie theatre when Batman Begins came out he got black BATMAN rubber bands (like the livestrong bands) and I found mine 2 weeks ago and I haven't taken it off and i won't till i see it Friday at Midnight... everytime i see a commercial for it i get goosebumps

who else thinks this well break box-office records with the hype its receiving (I don't mean hype in a bad way cause I think this movie is going to be ridonkulous)

It'll be in Spiderman 3 range opening weekend, but it's opening in less theatres than Spidey did. Hard to say, but I'd put the o/u around $145,000,000 for opening weekend. Probably go on to be one of the most successful films of all time. Not Titanic big, but maybe the higest grossing movie of this decade.

yeah I'm thinking it'll make in the neighbourhood of 150M but yeah opening in less theatres will hurt

I'm not marketing expert, but with the crazy hype this thing has been getting why would you not put this thing in as many theatres as possible?

box office mojo has The Dark Knight going to be in 4,300 theatres across the nation.

spiderman 3 was in 4,252 theatres on opening night on may 4th.

I think TDK will surpass Spiderman 3 as overall grossing movie and should be very close to it in terms of opening weekend. The only thing that will help TDK will be returning fans seeing it, because Spidey-3 fans saw it once and didn't return that TDK might beat it it that TDK fans will want to see it again and again..

Another thing that can help TDK is that Disturbia was a pretty good grossing movie at the time SP3 came out which took away some customers but Mamma Mia!(3,000theatres) and Space Chimps (2,400 theatres) should'nt be as much a distraction on opening weekend..

Everywhere I've seen has said less theatres. I'll take your word for it. It's going to beat Spidey down in terms of overall money, because many will go see it twice or more. It's suppose to actually be a very good movie.

most of the reviews i have read say its less a comic/superhero movie and more of a epic crime drama. So that should bring a lot of adult viewers in the lets say 35-50 age region also.

This is the reason I'm excited. The Joker character has me really really interested. It sounds like Heath nailed that role, and if so, may be one of the best villians ever put on screen. Can't wait.

i think instead of heath ledger as the Joker, it should be Just The joker because heath became the joker.

ppl keep asking me what if I think it sucks? i told them i don't think it will suck at all.. From what ive seen (the trailers) I think that the 2mins trailers are better than some movies Ive seen.. so a 2hour and 30mins version of that 2mins trailer will be amazing no matter what in my eyes.

Heath is the reason why so many people want to see the movie....the movie is hyped around him. Not to mention he died possible because of the role. That would make ANY movie go-er interested in this flick.
