With the year almost over, I feel we need to sit down and compile a list of the best albums of 2008.

I can second this but I am really on the line with Shudder for some reason. It shocks me because I like Bayside so much.

I was a bit on edge about it but I didn't see any reason not to at least nominate so I did. As I look through the albums for this year, I'm really not that impressed.

The album is just, I don't know. It is hard to say. There are times I am listening to it and I am in love with it. Then I hear songs like 'Howard' and I am turned off. Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend Attack & Release - The Black Keys

Second the efforts from Bon Iver, Blitzen Trapper and.. that's it so far
I'll nominate: She & Him - Volume One Jenny Lewis - Acid Tongue Okkervil River - The Stand-Ins J. Tillman - Vacilindo Territory Blues Mutyumu - Ilya Marnie Stern - This Is It and I Am It and You Are It and So Is That and He Is It and She Is It and It Is It and That Is That
I'm going to assume we'd do this in a way so that when people take final votes, we can have albums written up, or maybe a sampler of stuff or something. Hoping some of these can get a second, especially She & Him, which is in my top 3 this year with Gaslight Anthem and Bon Iver

Keeper, think I'd like Gaslight Anthem?
I've gotten glowing recommendations from Freak and now you, and I'm wondering now.

The band tours with a bunch of shitty acts, but these guys have some real talent. Best "rock" record of the year for me, even if it's not my favorite album.

Dark Horse, Nickelback was very good in my mind. I think you just lost voting privileges for nominating Nickelback.
