We've been installed as 7 point underdogs already, but due to the fact that LSU has SEC speed you have to cube that to get the actual line.

Am I the only one that feels like OSU comes into this game with the same intensity that Florida did in last years game? I mean these guys got crushed on the national stage last year by the underdogs, do you really think they're going to let that happen again, two years in a row?! LSU is a fraud, and I hope an intense Buckeyes team will show that.

I mean come on it is already f**kin annoying and its been three days since it was announced. STFU already. To paraphrase the great Peter LaFleur: You're going to play LSU in January and you're probably going to lose. The sooner you realize that the better off your going to be.

Last time we got dissed for a month in a half we shocked the entire damn world 31-24 in double OT. This LSU team is good, but not great. They have their flaws and so do we, and we stand a damn good chance of winning this damn game, with our damn strong team. Just go back to watching Canadiens try and play football.

I'm just really tired of your bitching, it will be alot of easier for you if you make one statement: "I, Sportsbuck, love the Buckeyes and think they are going to win" and then LEAVE IT AT THAT! Pretty much everyone, including me, thinks OSU is going to get manhandled (or perhaps its womanhandled) so it would be great for you if you made that statement, didn't talk shit again, then came back after (hypothectically of course) the Buckeyes win and rub it in our ignorant faces. I usually try not to take sides but it is getting ridiculous. It's not just you though it is any of you fanboys that come on here and start shit just cause someone likes a different team. Seriously can't we just all get along and let the players decide it on the field. Wait thats right the BCS doesn't let that happen I forgot. BTW the nationality thing was uncalled for I hate being Canadian enough as it is (although I wouldn't want to be American, sorry guys but everybody hates you except for me of course )

I'm a passionate fan (Well, more like stupid), and I got a little carried away. Not everyone thinks this game is going to be a blowout. The only people that do are rediculous SEC fanboys, and idiiotic reporters that somehow believe that last year's 41-14 loss means that we are incapable of ever winning a national championship game ever again. All everyone talks about is how talented LSU is, but we stack up VERY well with them in terms of talent (Note: For anyone that is thinking of calling me out, I didn't say we are superior or equal to them in terms of talent, I said that we stack up very well with them that. It's all a perception by the public that the SEC is superior than everyone else and LSU as their top dog is feeding on it. Not to mention that in the coaching matchup tilts towards Ohio State's favor as well. Jim Tressel's worst team ever at Ohio State dominated Les Miles best team at Oklahoma State (And Okie State was actually favored by a touchdown), with WR playing QB (Although that WR was Ted Ginn).

We fight too much here....
Anyway, just so you know you aren't alone Spotsbuck, I to believe that Ohio State will win this game.
You guys have played better than LSU all year long. End of story. I don't care about the little... oh you lost to Illinois, oh but you guys blow it on dumb plays. Fuck that. From what I have seen it will be a good game but Ohio State is the better team
I am right. So everyone stop bitching.

Ok, this is just me speaking in an unbiased way...but LSU has shown ALOT more in terms of positive things than the Buckeyes. As has been stated many times, OSU played basically nobody and didn't look all that impressive doing so.
LSU has had to endure the brutal SEC and it took 6 combined overtimes to give them their 2 losses. LSU has had to prove alot more than OSU and LSU just looks like the better of the two.

For once, I agree with JTR about something. (Except the PSU game. We went into an enviroment that is a lot tougher than what we will be seeing in NOLA and won, quite handily as Boeckman handled the crowd well and delivered his best performance of the year against a stacked defense) But in national championship games, stats, and the season before it are all thrown out the window, as is talent. It all comes down to who is more disciplined and who is more prepared for their opponent, and who wants it more.

This is how bad I think Ohio State is. Im a pretty big college football fan. Watch a lot of games every weekend.
Now, I know im an Alabama fan/SEC fan, but is it bad that I don't know anybody on Ohio State besides Chris Wells and their QB who I can't think of his name right now.
Sorry but LSU has a lot of talent, and I mean a lot. Not only do they have talent, but they have expierenced players. Players who have been in this situation many times. I know Ohio State went 11-1, blah, blah, blah. LSU could be 13-0 right now. Those two LSU losses were a fluke. This coming from somebody who doesn't really like LSU at all.
Sorry, but if you think your going to put up a lot of points against that defense, you got another think coming, and if you think you can stop Hester, then just try. Also, if you do happen to score a lot of points, they will just score right back.
Sorry, but LSU wins this one with fashion. They win by at least 14 and im calling that now...

If you can't name anybody other than Chris Wells on Ohio State you shouldn't be talking about Ohio State.

Sorry, but I just think thats how bad they are...
I mean after looking at Ohio State's schedule this year. I just say too myself what the hell? Alabama could have went 11-1 with that damn schedule (Biased Opinion), but still. Lets take a quick look at what each team has done with it's schedule.
Ok, so first game. Ohio State gets Youngstown State while LSU gets Mississippi St. Now Miss St. is for sure better. Both teams win, LSU winning by more against a stronger oppenent wins week one.
LSU - 1 / Ohio St. - 0
Now week two comes and oh my god Ohio St. has to play Akron. LSU gets Virginia Tech and wallops all over them. Hmm, LSU wins week 2. Then to week three where LSU shuts out Midd Tenn State while Ohio State wins with fashion against Washington. Ohio St. wins that week.
LSU - 2 / Ohio St. - 1
Then Ohio State gets another one of their big time opponents with who? Oh yea, Northwestern. While LSU gets the Spurrier Gamecocks which they happen to beat also. LSU easily wins this week although Ohio St. did perform well against Northwestern. Next week Ohio St. has Minnesota while LSU gets Tulane. Both win, but week goes to Ohio St.
LSU - 3 / Ohio St. 2
Then Ohio St. gets freaking Purdue while LSU has to battle out with Heisman candidate Tebow and the Florida Gators. LSU walks away with yet another win. Then onto the wild weekend for LSU. Ohio St. gets another pushover opponent with some team by the name of Kent St. while LSU has to play a Kentucky team who has beaten Louisville and Arkansas already. LSU runs into bad luck in the overtime receiving a loss, but the week deserves a tie.
LSU - 4 / Ohio St. 2 / 1 Tie
Next week Ohio St. gets an unproven Michigan St. who already has losses to Northwestern and Wisconsin, and hasn't faced any other tough opponents with their wins. Ohio St. stays victorious, while LSU makes a rebound against another tough SEC opponent in Auburn. LSU walks away with yet another week.
LSU - 5 / Ohio St. 2 / 1 Tie
The next week Ohio St. gets a mediocre Penn St. team as the same with LSU getting a good comeback win against conference rival Alabama. Both teams play well and week is settled with yet another tie. Ohio St. gets a good win against Wisconsin while LSU breezes by LA Tech, resulting in a Ohio St. weekly win.
LSU - 5 / Ohio St. - 3 / 2 Ties
Then comes Ohio St. loss to Illinois while LSU rolls over a semi decent Ole Miss team. LSU winning in fashion hands them the week although Illinois a better team than Ole Miss. Then comes the big rival win against Michigan and the close loss against Arkansas for LSU. Although week could be considered a tie due to Michigan's season, but records are usually dropped for rivalries so Ohio St. wins the week.
LSU - 6 / Ohio St. - 4 / 2 Ties
LSU goes onto win the conference championship game against a good Tennessee while Ohio St. sits on their ass and don't play a conference championship game. Week results in nothing seeing as it wouldn't be fair.
Now as you can see LSU clearly had a way tougher schedule and I was curtious to Ohio State. I know this may have nothing to do with the outcome of the NC game, I just don't see that Ohio State has proven themself this season. I mean with a schedule like that, I don't think you can.

Backstop, you have to be crazy to call LSU's losses a fluke. They had close calls against Alabama and Auburn as well. Plus they played like pure shit against Ole Miss. I know they won handily, but I was there and can tell you they played some shitty football and were lucky to be playing a garbage team that day. LSU has talent and good OCs and DCs but the head coach is a clown who shouldn't be allowed to make decisions on what he's going to eat that day, much less coach a football team. God I hate that bastard, but glad he's at LSU to fuck everything up. You know, like blowing a shit ton of talent in 2006 (realize that 06 LSU > 07 LSU) and what not.
Oh and your breakdown is rediculous Backstop at least about Ole Miss. They put up a touchdown in garbage time and was pretty much within striking distance of a shitty Ole Miss team all game. They played their worst game of the season that night, there was nothing that made me say "damn this team should be in the MNC this year."
This probably is rambling, but I'm tired and it's late so kiss my white ass...

All im saying is LSU is a good football team. Whether or not their coach is good or not is another thing, but that team has way more talent inside of it than Ohio State's. No doubt Ohio State's head coach is way better than LSU's. But in reality it all comes down to the players on the field, and LSU has that on their side.

Backstop, how exactly is a victory over Alabama more impressive than winning on the road, at night, under white-out conditions, facing a stacked defense in Happy Valley?

Another thing. I want you to look at all of the statistics you can find about LSU and Ohio State. Next, I want you to compare the talent and strength of schedules for both teams.
Then throw all of that shit out the window because this is National Championship game and the 12 previous games don't matter at all. Just look at last year with Florida. Hell, look at 2002 with Ohio State.
And also, if you think this Ohio State team is bad I would hate to see your thoughts about the 2002 squad pre-NC.

Penn State is a better football team than Alabama. The atmosphere was probably equally as intense in Bryant-Denny, but Penn State is a better football team IMO than Alabama is.

The entire LSU football team has been dismissed for the next two weeks to complete finals and rest. I don't care how good you are, that time off is going to kill their timing and make them rusty.
