Alright, so my recruiting is not going as planned. I lost my main target on signing day, even though his interest in me was as close to full as it could be. I have a kid from Nigeria who I would like to sign, but his interest in me doesn't rise at all with my phone calls and e-mails. Some of you have said that it is easy to sign the foreign players in the offseason as long as you maintain contact with them all season. Currently I am the only team showing interest in the player, so does that mean I can get him pretty easily at the end of the season?

You should, as long as you keep calling him once a week as long as you can and e-mail him once a day. Even though in the season it won't seem like you're making much progress, if you keep at it, they'll most likely sign with you at some point during the 5 week-or-so postseason signing period. The good thing about recruiting foreign players is that they're cheap to recruit, which makes them ideal for the smaller schools who don't have tons of recruiting points at their disposal.

thank you.
yeah I found out the hard way how quickly those points disappear. I am down to 500 and lost my targeted recruit. I still have 4 schollys to give, but am really only having to make phone calls, so those points should last.
Alright next question: What type of player development is there? Does it all just happen natural based on their potential?

Another question from me...I have two scholarships to give out. I offered two players scholarships in the early signing period. They didn’t accept, but they didn’t accept any other offers. Now it’s during the season and I’ve also recruited some foreign players...not sure if they’ll sign with me but I wouldn’t mind having them over the guys I’ve offered scholarships to. I guess I’m screwed...can’t really rescind my scholarship offer without having them drop interest in me, huh? Guess the best way to play it is to leave my offers on the table and honor them but have the foreign players interested just in case. Any thoughts on this?

Yeah rescinding a scholarship would probably mean a big drop in interest, I would think. I haven't tried, but if the game is as realistic as everyone says then they would have to.

I can say a few things about this game. If you sim take Albany the first season I went 22-7 and won the championship, I played the last game of the conference series though and won its amazing I upset UK in the first round and everything anyway here's a few key points. 1. Winning effects recruit intrest. 2. Do not bother with that training thing I havent touched it at all. 3. Make sure if you have a 5 star and your not in a large college to have a 4 or lower ready in case he gets taken. 4. Florida A&M should be open quickly do not goto them. 5. If you do decent but get fired by a team do not think you are gone because you might get a job still. 6. Make sure to get your recruiting and scouting up to A+ before switching to the other catergorys. 7. Dont think in 4-6 years you will be in a ranked team enless you play every game and stay on a team that has done something important and is up there. 8. Dont get annoyed by the first article when you start about that unknown coach crap.

Why not, it gives you great recaps for games while comparing players to items of food or animals.

2. Do not bother with that training thing I havent touched it at all. Training effects a sort of "in-season" progression..you'll get a +1 or +2 in categories that you spend lots of time on in a week. It's easier to see how it works if you play all of your games and mess around with the percentages...if you don't put enough of an emphasis on shooting during the week's training, you won't shoot as well as usual in the games you play that week.

Is that what all those plus/minus signs mean during the season? That's been bugging me for a while now. I honestly haven't tinkered much with the training settings either.

How many more points will I be given in the 5 week offseason recruiting?

It may depend on your team's prestige, but I was getting 1500 pts while at Providence.

I am starting to get worried about my recruiting. I only have 450 points left and am three games into conference play. I have three recruits that are really high interest, but they have scholly offers from other schools. I think I will get one PF who is a 2 star and only has my offer, and hopefully the world recruit (a three star SF from Nigeria). My other two both have two scholarship offers including mine, but I am not listed before the other schools on their interest level. I am second on both (behind Valpo on one and McNeese State on the other).
I need a small forward badly, because I am losing one of my best players this season and my other small forwards have been moved to the power forward spot because of my lack of an centers, which also mean I need some size. I have already received a commitment from a 6-11 center, but he is a project since he is only a 2 star, but he should help some. My tallest player right now is 6-7 and I get eaten up down low against taller teams. In my conference it doesn't hurt so bad, but against Rice I got killed on the boards.

I think I’m going to run into problems as well. I’m thinking it was a mistake to offer scholarships to players during the early signing period. From what I’ve read, kids don’t usually sign early unless you are a big school. Now I have my two offers on players that may not want to come to my school. The player that has the highest interest in me has three scholarship offers (including mine) but I’m listed as his #3 school. Guess it would have been better to wait until the postseason to make any offers.

I have already received a commitment from a 6-11 center Did you get this commitment during the regular season, or in the early signing period? Can players commit during the regular season? I didn't think they could...

I got the commitment in the early signing period. Keep in mind that I am going for realistic recruits, two and three stars only. I don't think they can commit during the season, I am not even sure their interest goes up or down during the season, because I haven't noticed any changes, especially with the foreign players. I don't think it is bad to make scholly offers during the first part, but I am sure some save a couple until the late period. I didn't either, I have all 4 of my remaining offered.

Yeah, their interest can go up and down during the season. I noticed some guys raised their interest alot in me.

How quickly do you start getting job offers? It looks like if you were to place odds on the field in my conference that I would be the favorite to go dancing and didn't know if the offers would start after year one. I am looking to build Grambling a little, but if the right job were offered I might have to leave.

I'm not sure, but I think the end of the second season is when you can get hired by another school.
