Tennessee took Calvin Lowry. This is a solid pick. Lowry is a great safety and reminds me a lot of Ronnie Lott in terms of toughness. If he gets coached up, he could be a really good player in five or six years. Michael Robinson is a shock to me, I didn't think he'd go this early in the draft and am surprised the 49ers selected him.

Brodrick Bunkley Winston Justice Chris Gocong Max Jean-Gilles Jason Avant
Quite possibly the greatest Eagles draft in nearly a decade.

Only time will tell if this will be the greatest. '02 was disgusting. Michael Lewis, Sheldon Brown, Lito Sheppard & Brian Westbrook.
EDIT: Hollis Thomas and Artis Hicks were traded to move up in the 4th. Hollis was expected, but Artis is sort of a shocker.

Brodrick Bunkley Winston Justice Chris Gocong Max Jean-Gilles Jason Avant Quite possibly the greatest Eagles draft in nearly a decade. On paper, I will admit, that does look pretty nice. And to think, they were willing to trade way up for Bunkley and Justice, and they ended up getting Bunkley who slipped and then trading up for Justice. Damn I wish Buffalo was getting Bunkley instead

Well, im actually quite happy with my Saints so far, and im glad Tom Benson actually decided to spend some money.
Players Acquired Through Draft Reggie Bush - Best pick of the draft Roman Harper - Great addition to our weak secondary Jeff Faine - Replaced LeCharles Bentley (Got him in a trade) Hollis Thomas - Got from Philadelphia (Don't know much about him) Jahri Evans - Great player who will probably step in as a starter Rob Ninkovic - Will be a good replacement for D.Howard leaving.
It's about time my Saints turned things around, and so far we have had a great draft.

THE EAGLES JUST PICKED JEREMY BLOOM. WHY IS YOUR FRONT OFFICE STAFF SO FREAKING SMART.

THE EAGLES JUST PICKED JEREMY BLOOM. WHY IS YOUR FRONT OFFICE STAFF SO FREAKING SMART. The same front office who brought in TO? That made them look brilliant. I just want to not that Sims is a pretty good linebacker, and that there have been a lot of worries over Matt's arm strength. I remember the last time Detroit drafted a quarterback from the Pac 10 with questionable arm strength. How's that working out for you? At least it wasn't a receiver right?

Yes but there were two better linebackers in Chad Greenway from Iowa and DeMeco Ryans out of Bama

There's a reason Ryans wasn't a first round pick. He's not better than Sims. Greenway maybe, but Sims fits what Millen wants in a player. I'd just rather have seen a different guy at 9.

If they wanted to go defense, they should have gone to the secondary. The front 8 doesn't have any HUGE holes.

front 4 is what I meant besides there was Jimmy Williams, VA Tech. Darnell Bing, USC, Ashton Youboty and Tye Hilll Clemson. Besides, why take the 4 best LB when 2 and 3 are still available.

Their LBs are weak. Boss Bailey is solid, but he gets overmatched easily sometimes. Lehman can't stay healthy. And there are some other ok ones like Davis, but Sims is an improvement. Just not a very sexy pick.

Eagles are tearing it up. I watched the entire first day and have tuned in here and there today! I was hoping that Sinorice might have slipped to us in the second round, but I am plenty satisfied with making the smart o/d-line picks and then getting Jason Avant!

The reason they didn't go secondary was because there really nobody worth taking. They need a safety and there weren't any worth picking at 9, corner isn't a desperate need. And Cerrano, Bailey can't stay healthy either. All of our starting linebackers ended up on the IR at season's end.
And Darnell Bing was a 3rd round pick. I would have committed suicide if he'd gone 1st round.

I like the picks of Cory Rodgers and Will Blackmon by the Packers...they need all the WR depth they can get, which Rodgers will help with. I think Blackmon will end up playing CB for the Packers, but could also return kicks if need be. Ingle Martin's got a cannon arm and will be a good back up QB for Aaron Rodgers in the future.

Loved the Broncos first day also. Got Cutler... then got Javon Walker out of a trade, nice deal.

Lets not forget about the Cardinals, and 49ers. 49ers had a great pick with V.Davis, and then getting the two WR to replace the loss of B.Lloyd. I believe A.Smith and V.Davis are going to get along great.
The Cardinals are definetly a team on the rise now, with Leinart going to be able to play with that already high octane offense. The Cardinals also got a reliable TE in L.Pope, and then snagging G.Watson at DT. Great draft so far by the Cards, but no one beats my Saints.
EDIT: I have a question. What is the compensentory selections all about, and how are teams getting them?
