They said how they know Lewis is a liability and will play him closer to the line a lot more, something the Eagles defense could not do all of the time. Lewis could be a great safety, but his coverage skills are what hurt him. He gets nervous, does something stupid, almost costs the team the game. When Dallas was in Philadelphia last year is a top example.

I'm hoping my niners will be able to hang this year - if Smith progresses more, Davis grows into more of a pro, sure up the D, etc..... they should be alright.
Remember, the niners were VERY VERY close to going 10-6 last year and making the playoffs with the losses with Arizona and St Louis. That was widely overlooked.

I'm not too fond of Smith, but he did make strides. Didn't really see any of their games, so I really only know them from highlights. They'll need another great season from Gore and improvement in the receiver area (please tell me they've cut Rashaun Woods). |

Gore overperformed last year. I think he was above his ceiling and I don't expect a repeat performance. I'd LOVE it, don't get me wrong, but I don't expect it. I'm not a big Smith fan either - yet. He improved TONS last year though and might turn out alright.
Woods didn't play with SF last year..... scout team with SD maybe? And then Bryant has been cut (past couple of days)..... driving 120 in a 45 while drunk will do that. Williams and Jacobs are two good young WR's, but Arnaz Battle is not good enough to be a #1 WR - so they'll have to do something about that. The O-line is relatively young too once Allen quits (which should be any day now, no?).
Davis could end up being a star - I wasn't sold on him until he caught his first TD pass in preseason week 3 in Dallas and did TO's pose (arms out head up) right on the star in the boys helmet in the endzone. Yes, they were down... 19-0 at the time - but anyone with that athletic ability, plus the balls to do that so early on.... he has the mental stuff to do it as long as he doesn't go nutso.

Bills signed tackle Langston Walker as well for 5 years, 25 million I think, from the Raiders. Nice to see them spending their cap money to improve that line.

Plummer has been traded to................. the BUCS?  ? Gruden what are you thinking are you trying to get simms to quit (not that it would be bad for the bucs cause simms sucks) they got plummer for a conditional pick in 08 but seriously I am 90% sure he will not agree to this trade as with simms and garcia already in camp it will be a 3-way battle for starting time. |

You're forgetting Gradkowski. Pretty sure he'll be in competition for the spot as well. Either way their QB is still going to suck...they've got the 4 worst potential starting QB's in the league. |
