With the NFL and NCAA seasons coming to a close, we have been able to see the plethora of talent availible in the upcoming draft.
So with that in mind, why don't we post who we think will go to each team in the first round?
1. Miami Dolphins = Glenn Dorsey DT LSU 2. St. Louis Rams = Chris Long DE Virginia *3. Atlanta Falcons = Matt Ryan QB BC *4. Oakland Raiders = Kenny Phillips S Miami U *5. Kansas City Chiefs = Jake Long OT Mich 6. New York Jets = Darren McFadden RB ARK 7. New England Patriots = Vernon Gholston DE tOSU 8. Baltimore Ravens = Andre Woodson QB Kentucky 9. Cincinatti Bengals = Jame Laurinitis OLB tOSU 10. New Orleans Saints = Derrick Harvey DE/OLB Florida 11. Buffalo Bills = DeShawn Jackson WR Cal 12. Denver Broncos = Early Doucet WR LSU 13. I was gonna do one of these you bastard!
Not bad. I don't know why everyone has the Jets taking McFadden when they have other spots that need to be filled and they already have a legit back in Thomas Jones. What was he, fifth in rushing yards or something like that? And I'm not sure the Ravens are ready to quit on Troy Smith yet though they might not want to waste their time but I don't personally see Andre Woodson benefitting them any better. Guess we'll see since I agree that that will likely be their pick.
Giants are taking Dan Connor if he's on the board. If not, I'll be pissed. We missed our chance at Posluzny so we gotta take Connor. We can only draft so many corners.

Yes, that's true with the Dan Connor issue, but when Mike Jenkins is still avalible, I don't care if I have Ed Reed on my team, I'm taking Jenkins. He's fast, as evidenced by that 100 yard kickoff return against Cincy for a TD, and his coverage is amazing, as evidenced by many teams not throwing his way. Connor would be a good solution for the interior rush defense, but I see Kawika Mitchell and Matias Kiwanuka stepping up and being forces down the line. But I can see a team in need of a defensive player, such as the Browns, trading up to get Connor. And if Manningham does indeed go to my Jags, I will SHIT myself.

Here's my top 10
1. Miami Dolphins = Glenn Dorsey DT LSU 2. St. Louis Rams = Jake Long OT Mich *3. Atlanta Falcons = Matt Ryan QB BC *4. Oakland Raiders = Early Doucet WR LSU (a reach but Russell-Doucet have good chemistry) *5. Kansas City Chiefs = Darren McFadden RB Ark 6. New York Jets = Kenny Phillips S Miami 7. New England Patriots = James Laurinitis LB OSU 8. Baltimore Ravens = Brian Brohm QB Louisville 9. Cincinatti Bengals = Sedrick Ellis DT USC 10. New Orleans Saints = Antoine Cason CB Arizona

EDIT: And Jay, the Cowboys do not need another LB. Hell, we drafted Bobby Carpenter a few years ago and we dont even use him.

That may be true, Blaze, but Connor would be a good fit in the scheme. And I think one of the linebackers is getting kinda old, I may be wrong. That's why I put him there.

I really wonder if the Eagles will actually take a defensive end. Trent Cole is fine on one end and I think they want to give Abiamiri more of a chance at the other end. Eagles may look at secondary (Dawkins getting older), offensive line (Uncertainty at future left tackle), or tight end (L.J. Smith likely gone/Matt Schoebel sucks).

I sort of viewed Campbell as a DE/LB hybrid. Which the Eagles could use.

They are set at linebacker. We will get another year or two out of the Gaither/Spikes/Gocong tandem. After that Stewart Bradley and Akeem Jordan (or other late rounder) will help solidify the linebackers.
I just don't see them taking either of the two positions, let alone a hybrid. Trent Cole and Chris Gocong each have played both. The Eagles have never used either outside of those positions even though they may be successful. With Stewart Bradley playing pretty good and Victor Abiamiri getting time to grow with Juqua Thomas still in town, it just won't happen.
I see the secondary as the most likely option because Dawkins is getting older and the corners aren't as good as they could be. Lito Sheppard has been on Jim Johnson's shit list for a while now. William James is just terrible and you can't expect Joselio Hanson to start when there are injuries. We match up with some good receivers a few times a year in the division. Joselio Hanson against Plaxico Burress is not a pretty sight.
Another outside chance in the first round is offensive line. Winston Justice put up a lackluster performance while Tra Thomas was injured. It was only one game so there is more to see, but if he doesn't pan out, that leaves us screwed at left tackle. Todd Herremans was initially a tackle, but moved to guard and has fit well there. To move him out of there now would just be senseless. Shawn Andrews can probably take over at tackle if it was needed badly. It would be an adjustment period though, not to mention he is an All-Pro at guard. I really don't want to see him shuffled around the line that much. Also, it is hard to say if you can count on any of the other back-ups at guard to be solid in moving one of the starters outside.

If Ray Maualuga comes out, the Saints will take him at 10 I think. The guy I want the Saints to draft is Kenny Phillips, but I would be surprised if he is still there. I think the Saints will take a LBer with their pick and pick up a CB in FA.

LOL at Early Doucet being top 5. Early is my dude, but I don't think he's going to go at 5. I'm thinking more like later in the first round. Around pick number 23 or so.

There is now way were drafting a DE when we have Grant and Smith. Also the Saints are going to draft a LB or CB/SS before they draft any type of linemen.

I believe that Oakland is set as the #3 pick, guys.
Only ATL and KC are flipping a coin.

If Phillips is gone and a lack of a top 10 worthy LB in the draft (well that won't be taken) this year, I wouldn't be shocked to see the Saints trade down. The Aints don't really need a top 10 guy.
One thought though, if Dorsey somehow slips by the first three teams or so, I think the Saints will trade up and get him. Can't pass on an LSU player born and bred in South Louisiana. A better pass rush will also help mask the problems in the secondary. Yeah, I'm dreaming I know, but a guy can hope right?

Hoping is one thing, but you'd probably have a better chance of making it with Briana Banks and Jenna Jameson.

Miami Herald is thinking the Dolphins are drafting another QB with that #1 pick.
