Damn I really wanted to see JR Smith, Paul, and Magloire as the trio of the future... hopefully they'll make good use of the draft pick.
Milwaukee wins too, because Mason was going to be seeing less time anyways with Simmons added...

Very nice trade for the Hornets.

YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
Now my dynasty is no longer riddled with a fatass center. I can't wait to see Smith and Mason...freaky...and the 1st could very well be lottery, allowing the Hornets to get a center. Nice trade for NO.

Both teams came out winners in that one, good trade.

He's still better than Joe Smith and Andrew Big Gut.

The wildcard here is the 1st round pick heading to the Hornets. If the Bucks fail to make the playoffs, which is definitely a strong possibility, the Hornets now have 2 lottery picks next year (assuming of course that the Hornets don't make the playoffs, which is almost a guarantee). This gives them the chance to draft a strong frontcourt to comliment their backcourt (PJ Brown is aging and then you have Chris Andersen at center...speaks for itself). The Hornets are poising themselves for another good draft.

Yeah that's true the Hornets look like they won out in this trade. They can probably get somebody like Shelden Williams or LaMarcus Aldrige to fortify the frontcourt, and maybe get a guard in the second round

He was a previous all-star, and well he's been injuried a lot. If he can do without injuries this season, he might breakout.

He didn't even DESERVE to be an All-Star. They just needed another center for the East team, and this was when they had Ben Wallace and really no other good decent centers.
He won't be an All-Star ever again. He has shown a lack of effort and has not proven he can stay healthy for long periods of time.

He can stay healthy for a full season like he did from 01-04, but the only reason why he didn't play all of last year is his lack of effort to come back from his injury. The Hornets were really struggling, and he didn't feel like playin. And 13.6 ppg and 10.3 rpg is All-Star to me, especially if he had nearly 60 double-doubles in that season.

Today, those numbers wouldn't get him on the All-Star team in either conference. It was an offyear for centers, and they took someone who normally wouldn't have made it just to fill rosters.
The Hornets are better off without Jamaal Magloire.

I agree with you, they are better off, but that was an All-Star season

Kenny Thomas averaged 13.6 PPG and 10.1 RPG with the Sixers in 2003-04. Should HE have been an all-star?
No.

No he shouldn't have been an All-Star because Magloire was more of an all-around post player. He was young, was a consistent rebounder, shot blocker, and scorer and posted double doubles for most of the season. And they were all career highs. Add that to the lack of true centers in the Eastern Conference at the time and he became an All-Star. It was league vote

I don't care if Magloire's a stiff. I'm in favor of anything that keeps Andrew Bogut off the floor.

In 2003-04, Kenny Thomas led the league in double-doubles, so that argument isn't valid either.
