But Kenny Thomas was old and unpopular so the league didn't care to include him why is this even that important to keep the thread going

And Jamaal Magloire IS popular? Honestly, nobody knew or cared about Jamaal Magloire in 2002.
Also, Magloire is only one year younger than Thomas, so if Thomas is old Magloire isn't much younger.

Kenny Thomas isn't a center though. You had some good talent in the eastern conference at the power foward spot.

If Magloire had played PF and put up those numbers, he would not have been an All-Star. The only reason he made it was because the centers in the East were all horrible that year except for Wallace.
It's rather simple.

It's rather simple. Thats what i'm saying, but about Kenny Thomas, he doesn't deserve to be an All-Star because he's not as popular as other big men in the league unless he goes off and puts up 20 and 12. So you couldn't make that comparison

So you couldn't make that comparison Two guys put up virtually the same numbers and I can't make a comparison? If Kenny Thomas doesn't deserve to an all-star, neither does Jamaal Magloire. Just take a look at career stats: Kenny Thomas (6 seasons) 10.9 PPG 7.4 RPG 1.6 APG 0.4 BPG .458 FG% Jamaal Magloire (5 seasons) 10.9 PPG 7.4 RPG 0.8 APG 1.1 BPG .482 FG% Keeping in mind that KT is almost half a foot shorter and weighs 15 lbs less, it's safe to say he's just as good (if not better) than Jamaal.

That's a good argument, but as I said, it's not all about the stats. And one of the reasons Magloire made the All-Star game is that it was a breakout season for him, and the Hornets were doing well. I understand how good Kenny Thomas was w/ statistics, but the league and the Gms dont choose who should be the all-star backups by stats alone.

Magloire will get a lot more rebound opps in Milwaukee, since Michael Redd will be hitting nothing but rim with his three's and there's no one else on that team that can shoot for crap. On paper, Magloire should average about 35 rebounds per game, and that's not even figuring in his own misses.

Do you even watch basketball? Why do you post if you post senseless stuff like this. Magloire is below average. He'd get shutdown against the majority of centers in either conference. He never said we were going to make a whole topic bashing Magloire, he jsut said we shouldn't praise this guy as if he's Shaq Jr, like what nosaints is doing...

We could talk about how big of a joke the NBA All-Star game is to begin with, so it doesn't even warrant mentioning if a player was a "former All-Star". The same 15-20 guys make the All-Star Game every year...the only time the rosters change is if someone is having a breakout first half or if injuries/general laziness opens up a roster spot.

I'm not trying to talk up Magloire I was one of the first ones to say that the Hornets are better off without him. I'm saying that Magloire was better than people say he was in his all-star season. He is no where near as good as Shaq or some of the premier centers in the league

The draft pick from Milwaukee, if its for the 2006 season should be a lottery pick, a possibilty of getting a Shelden Williams would make quite a trio of youngens.
