The draft pick from Milwaukee, if its for the 2006 season should be a lottery pick, a possibilty of getting a Shelden Williams would make quite a trio of youngens. I think the Hornets are eventually going to trade away that pick for a veteran center. Can't depend on youth forever.

Considering they now have Paul, Smith, and Mason, it looks as if they're slowly building that way...
I know I wouldn't move a potential lottery pick for a center with 3-5 good years left.

They already kno that they aren't going anywhere this season, so they're gonna keep putting young pieces together for the future until they get it right.

Since I have become a pseudo-Hornets fan over the past few months, here's how it shakes down:
The Hornets are becoming all about youth. Anyone over the age of 30 isn't really an option. They are building around their backcourt of Chris Paul and J.R. Smith, their duo of the next 10+ years. Up front, Desmond Mason is probably a fix for 2-4 years. P.J. Brown is on his last legs, and the team doesn't really have a center. This year's draft looks to be a good one for PFs, so that will be where they look first come next June. There aren't quite as many centers coming out in this draft, so that's more iffy. If the Bucks get off to a bad start, they'll probably look to keeping the pick. If the Bucks look to be in the playoff race, there IS a chance they'll trade the Milwaukee pick, but probably only for a center 27 or younger....maybe 28.

Look at the division the Bucks play in. There's not a chance in hades of them even getting close to the playoff race. The Hornets could end up with the #1 and #2 overall picks if things go the way they're hoping.

The Hornets would probably have to get an offer for a very good veteran center for that Bucks pick. Frankly, they shouldn't let it go

The thing is, there aren't many very good young centers. Sure, there's tons of tall guys, but you don't let quality young centers go unless you have a viable back up. If there were an abundance of quality young centers, then the Lakers would've gotten better than Kwame Brown in exchange for Caron Butler.
