Damn, they got molested last night... definitely need to win Game 4. I know how you go on about not counting this team out at 3-1, but when you have shown no life in some of these losses and you're facing a legitimate team in the Heat, I'd be happy to throw money down in favor of Miami...

Eh, that wasnt to shocking. The Pistons are like what 1-5 in game 3s the past two years or something. They need to win game 4 or this series is probably over.

Well I'll be there tomorrow to see Game 4. Hopefully it will be a happy flight home.

I'm going to break my own rule regarding never counting the Pistons out by saying this:
If Miami wins game four, the series is over.

So both the Mavs and Heat now hold 2-1 advantages. Even though the Suns have came back in both series' against the LA teams, I think they have met there match and Dallas will win the series. However if Detroit can win game 4, Im thinking that series will go 7. SHould be interesting.

If the Pistons win game 4 (and win the way they did during the regular season) it would not shock me at all if it went to just 6 games. But they need to start playing real defense and start shooting above 40% like a real playoff team does.

Ben Wallace called out his coach and team...
"It's like night and day (from last year)," Wallace told reporters. "We've gone from like the first- or second-best team in the league in holding teams to low field-goal percentage to now we're in the middle of the pack. It's night and day.
"We work more on offense. We practice more on the offensive end, than we do on the defensive end. What you practice hard you usually bring to the game."
Great. Our heart and soul criticizing the team. Just what we need down 2-1.

Ben Wallace is a dope. The dude honestly believes he is worth nine figures.
I'd give him $6,000,000 TOPS.

There's talk of him wanting a max deal. No way in hell. Sign and trade for some value...

DOPY does deserve so cred.
i haven't seen the 60 win Detriot team since the forth Q of game 2 of the cavs series. (maybe saw some of it in game 7, but not consistantly). however u can never count out the two time east champs, so i say that if det goes down 3-1, which in all likelyhood has a chance of happening, then this series isn't over. Expierence pays off, and DET has expierence, winning three straight against the Heat isn't hard especially when two of the games are in your house.

Like Miami doesn't have experience? They were in the Conference Finals too last year, ya know.
If we go down 3-1 I give us maybe a 10% chance of winning the series.

That's it. Payton hits the 3, 14 points lead with 3 minutes left. There's your series, folks. The team that won 64 games in the regular season can't even make it to the NBA Finals and gets plain and simple outclassed in half of one series and the complete other.
Ben Wallace can be let go, Rasheed Wallace can be traded, and Flip Saunders NEEDS to be fired.
And I ain't kidding.

Amazing how quick fans turn on their teams. This is coming from SEC country, where a coach can be fired for not having enough 10 win seasons. Detroit won championships with the cast they have now and are good enough to do it again, they just need the right guy calling the shots. Maybe if Larry Brown gets done with the pain that is the Knicks, he'll come back to Detroit. Hell I don't know, but the problem isn't players but coaching.
Have a little faith though DB, in 04 the Yankees were up 3-0 on the Red Sox and look who ended up with the World Series ring. It doesn't look good, but the Pistons still have two home games to work with and if they can steal one from Miami down in south Florida, they still can win this thing.

I don't see them winning in Miami. I think they MIGHT win game five...but these guys haven't shown me anything since the 4th quarter of game seven against Cleveland.
Also, the onus lies on both players and coaches here. Flip Saunders has proven he doesn't know how to coach in playoff pressure situations, while the team that won 64 games in the regular season, easily dispatched Milwaukee, and blew out Cleveland in the first 2 games of the semis has simply disappeared, and nobody knows why.
If we fail to make the NBA Finals, the season is a complete failure as far as I'm concerned. With the talent this team has, there's no way we should miss out on the Finals.

DB were you originally from Philly or something, because your trashing your team for losing as much as they do (which isn't insulting Philly, just saying they expect so damn much)...
But I have no problem with what Wallace said. I look at what Wallace said as a challenge to his team. He's telling them that they're not doing what they need to do to become a champion, which is a lot better than sitting back and just watching it happen. Chauncey Billups is not playing like an MVP candidate he was during the season. Rasheed hasn't been special either. Those two need big games if they want any chance, because Tayshaun is a 3rd option at best, and Rip can't do it all himself.
