lol... sorry Phillies fans. The one time I want my team to lose, they go out and capitalize off of old Charlie's mistakes. It's a shame the Phililes have Urbina to be honest. Since last season, he's been one of the most inconsistent relievers in the league. I don't know what was up with Worrell, but after he was mentally healed our w/e happened to him psychologically, they should have held onto him. Worrell>Urbina. Nice to see my Mets make a comeback, even if it was with some help from a bad defense and poor bullpen usage.

Worrell's mother was dying in Arizona and he asked to be traded out there. We didn't get Ugi in return for him though. I am not sure if that is what you were trying to convey. Anyway, Ugi is just terrible. He is the definition of a choke when you need him most. It isn't all his fault though. Manuel should have recognized that and sent in Madson who leads the league in holds, or possibly Rheal Cormier to force Beltran to his weaker side. Ugh

Yeah I knew they didn't trade for him, I'm just saying they basically got Uggie to replace Worrell (I believe). If your vying for a Wild Card spot, why would you go with your most inconsistent pitcher? It's not like it's a 10 run lead where you give a guy a chance to prove he can pitch in the postseason, it's actually a close game. Hopefully the Phils realize they can't take this team lightly. Defensive mistakes were a part of that loss too.

Yeah it wasn't all Ugi's fault but the only memories of him I have are blowing the game in the 8th inning as usual. It isn't over though. If we can win out or win 4 and Houston plays poorly, we have an outside shot.

I heard a rumor that St. Louis would play San Diego if Houston made the WC, so they would but their bench players in for the next 2 games, or else if Philly made it, they'd face Philadelphia. Therefore, St. Louis would WANT Houston to get it, but I could have sworn that the way the standings are now, the WC winner has Atlanta, but maybe it has something to do with how the WC winner is in the divison?

St. Louis would play SD. Baseball isn't like football though. They'd probably rest their pitchers, but just because of that it isn't an automatic loss. I doubt STL would just give up against a divison rival, especially since they could end up playing them in the playoffs.

I also heard they'd bench their starters too.

I've seen enough football in my life to know. I've been to quite a few Syracuse games in my life, and I watch the NFL all the time, which is still football, just minor rule changes as for as the actual game goes. Plus I watched how "masterfully" Zwick did in the last quarter. I don't see how that's considered "not watching the sport".

I said I don't follow college football, which isn't the only football. And obviously, I had watched some college football, or else why would I be saying that Zwick choked? Do you think I just made it up, and hey, I had a lucky guess. But hear, let me go back and edit it, because obviously, when I talk about a college football game that I said I watched, and that said that I don't really follow it, immediately, it should throw off every poster on this site. and they should disregard every post I had about the game I said I watched. There's a difference between following and watching...

Anyways, on topic, my Mets just lost a 3-0 lead to 3-2, and were lucky to retain the lead. Lieber was pitching exceptionally well. Zambrano, on the other hand, found a way to get 100 pitches in less than 5 innings. There's not much hope if you're a Mets fan, especially with this crazy divison.

Being the Yankee hater I am, I hope Rollins beats Joe D's 56, even though it is unlikely (just over halfway there) Hitting streaks carry over from season to season, don't they?

It won't happen this season for sure. I don't think they carry over though.

IMO Rollins isnt good enough to get a hit streak of that magnitude, I dont really see anyone with a chance at doing that

^^^ That's pretty dumb. A hit streak is a consecutive amount of games in which a player gets a hit. If say J Roll did this earlier in the season, say starting in June. If he took a day off, it wouldn't end the streak, since he didn't play that game. It's the same thing for an off-season, where there isn't even games being missed. Stupid MLB...

That feat's untouchable. I just like Rollins a lot. He's Jose Reyes with a better bat and glove. But they're similar in size, speed, and appearance. If J Roll could do it, it would give me some hope for Reyes, who I see adds another error to his collection this season in the game goin on now...
