I don't know why I'm rooting for them to get in over the Sox. I guess the postseason without the Yanks just feels weird.

Just saw that on ESPN.com....GO YANKS! The Yankees wont win it though, i dont like the Red Sox but would love to see a post-season without the Yanks. Their pitching will screw them, and I have said it all along, Indians will win the WC on the last day and Yankees will loose the AL East by 2 games

I disagree with ASM but I won't argue over it. By the way the most beautiful thing is not only are the Yankees in first in the AL East, the Red Sox aren't even leading the WC. I would laugh so hard if the defending World series champs didn't even make the playoffs.

Just rub salt in my wounds. Ugh, Mike Timlin. It is the D-Rays. That season ending series is looming larger and larger. Ugh. I don't even know what to think. Why do the Indians have to be so pesky?

Umm... Anaheim and Florida didn't make it after they won, and truth is, beginning of the year I didn't expect it.

Everyone let the Yankees hang around with that horrid pitching to long...now it has come back to bite you all in the butt. Must suck to be a Red Sox fans.

Ya, it does. Not as bad as giving up the first place lead to a team with horrid pitching though.

Sox pitching > Yanks pitching
I'd say so.

That being said, the Sox pitching still lacks. We don't know when Matt Clement pitches to win, Bronson Arroyo is one of the worst starters in the league in consistency, Curt Schilling has been terrible as of late (aside from 2 starts), Wells' curveball doesn't move, and Wakefield is the only one doing anything. The Yankees have a way better pen than we do, with the only 2 people being reliable are Papelbon and Timlin, and Timlin blew it for us last night.

What I like the most about this race is all the division opponents will determine who goes and who stays home.

WOW, with a payroll of over $100 million, and the Yankees suck as bad as they do...that is just sad

Boston has the second highest payroll anyway so dont start that argument.

Boston has the second highest payroll anyway so dont start that argument. But it is no where near that of the Yankees

But Boston's team is being paid $84.8 million less, so don't start that argument.

It's just not fair that a huge market team like the Yankees can run over everything because their owner has enough cash to buy championships.
Face it - the Yankees would be nothing if a salary cap were to be implemented.
