Good trade for the Phils, Rowand was a beast for me in 2K5 down the road. And Thome is passing the prime.

Yes, video games mirror real life perfectly.
Rowand > Thome. What are the Sox thinking.

Obviously a great deal for the Phillies. They'll be able to play Ryan Howard without the burden of giving Thome time; that said, it's a flat-out horrible trade for Chicago.

Well not like there is some kind of crystal ball laying around in real life, so video games is all anyone has to go off to predict athletes performance in real life. Even though it usually is not an accurate guess, it is better than nothing.

Chicago can pay Thome's huge contract and will play him at DH. Thome's going to just be the Frank Thomas replacement, plus they're covering their butts in case Konerko decides to leave.
I was a little surprised the Phillies didn't get pitching for Thome, since the ChiSox have plenty of that, but I suppose Chicago didn't want to part with any of their young pitchers. As for Rowand leaving, it isn't a big deal defensively because Scott Podsednick played centerfield in Milwaukee before going to Chicago. My guess is that they'll move Scotty Po to CF, sign an OF in free agency, resign Konerko, and play Thome at DH.

This trade is now expected to cause a domino-effect: -Thome to ChiSox -Konerko to the Angels -Manny... to the Mariners

Yeah this is a great oppourtunity for Ryan Howard. I was talking to my friend all week about this. He wanted Thome gone so bad. Not because Thome sucks badly, it is just because Ryan Howard is going to be greatness.

Ryan Howard is going to be greatness. Ya, against right handed pitchers, put a lefty in there and he is done.

Just a small prediction: a few years from now, Albert Pujols, Ryan Howard, and Prince Fielder will be racing annually for the NL Home Run title.

I never said the Red Sox would just give Manny to us, weirdo.

You left us out of your blockbuster trade, so I assumed you were implying it.

If Konerko goes to the Angels, it'll be through free agency. If Manny ends up on the Mariners, the Red Sox better end up with Ichiro.

No way the Mariners let go of F-Her. He's the closest they have to a sure thing, which is a rarity with baseball prospects. If the Red Sox got Ichiro, they could let Damon go and upgrade their defense in the outfield. Imagine would a lefty hitter like Ichiro could do with that short wall in right at Fenway...Ichiro might actually become a 20 HR guy if he were in Boston. It's also starting to get out that Ichiro is sick of the Mariners' losing and wants to be traded.
The only problem I see with the Mariners going after Manny is that they already have plenty of power from the right side of the plate with Richie Sexson and Adrian Beltre...what they really need is a lefty power hitter.

Ryan Howard is going to be greatness. Ya, against right handed pitchers, put a lefty in there and he is done. He was a rookie last season... did you expect him to be Babe Ruth? Maybe not this year, but by the end of the season after, this guy will hit anything...

Puzzling deal for the sox. Manny to the Angels for Vladdy Daddy is the most logical choice for the Sox.
