Well, it's that time of year again. BASEBALL IS BACK. How is your favorite team going to do this season? How would you rate your offseason?
Well, speaking for reds fans, we will be hopeful the first two months of the year as we somehow get to first place, but then we willl fizzle out in the beginning of June because of a combination of injuries and bad pitching. I'm going to say 5th place in front of the Pirates. Maybe 4th if the Brewers youth movement doesn't pay off.

Philadelphia Offseason: B- (Yeah, we got Rowand, but we didn't necessarily need him the most. Pitching was our dire need and we decided to move Ryan Madsen from long relief to the starting position.) Prediction: 85-77, 3rd in NL East, Braves and Mets finish above us. Ryan Howard and Chase Utley are the future of our team and will go insane, but that won't be enough this year.

Offseason: D. Kenny Rogers. Um, wow. Prediction: 70 wins if we're lucky. God, I hate this team.

Braves
Offseason: D- Prediction: 2nd in NL East, ending our 14 year run of NL East Champions
We needed bullpen pitching, but lost Kyle Farnsworth to the Yanks, plus we lost Leo Mazzone, perhaps the greatest pitching coach ever, what keeps this from being an F is the fact that we picked up Edgar Renterria, and despite him leading the league in errors, i feel that his bat will bring some more offense to the team

For the Brewers Offseason: B Prediction: T-2nd in NL Central with Houston
Not much was done, which is a good thing. Getting rid of Lyle Overbay allows Prince Fielder to step in and bring more power to the lineup, and the Brewers also got some good pitching out of it. The season depends on whether or not Ben Sheets can stay healthy, which is already looking bad considering he irritated the muscle he tore last season in his first spring start this year. The bench looks better than last year, and this year guys like Rickie Weeks and J.J. Hardy will have experience from last year to draw upon.

For the Indians Offseason: B- Prediction: 1st in AL Central, 100-62
We didn't do much except get rid of Coco, which was actually a smart move. We have the core group from last year minus Crisp and Millwood, and we actually brought in some decent hitters and kept up to par with our bullpen. The White Sox will fizzle out this year, and the Indians will take advantage of that. We lose in the AL Championship game to the Yankees.

The Indians will definitely not 100 games any time soon. If they get 95, it would be amazing, but I think they'll be around 90...

Sep, how can you say we, the Braves, got a C in the offseason? the only guy we got was Edgar Renterria, plus we lost a solid closer, and a good speedy shortstop, as well as 95 year old Julio Franco, who still got base hits often enough, as well as the best pitching coach in the MLB today
now, i am somewhat of a bad Braves fan because i'm overly critical, for instance last season i was for sure we'd get hosed by the Mets and Marlins, but we pulled it out
but this year, i really just don't see the Braves winning, with the Mets grabbing all that offseason talent
but i sure hope Bobby Cox proves me wrong

Eh, im just really basis, and we kept a really solid core of players so I gave us a C. It could probably be lower but oh well. And Bobby Cox has yet to unimpress and even though the Mets have the talent to win, I think we have the experience edge, and will pull it out in September.

But I think the Braves will still be competitive. I don't think they'll win the NL East, but I've been proven wrong before with them. Mazzone hurts. Francouer (or however you spell his name) faded in the second half once teams got to see him a bit. I expect Renteria to flourish in Atlanta though. I see them coming 2nd and in contention for the WC, but lose out to a team like Houston.

Pssh, the Mets were supposed to win the divisiion at least 5 of the 15 times the Braves actually won. If Pedro has another real good year and Billy Wagner stays healthy they got a shot, but I'm not putting anything past the Braves now...

Team: Da Jays Offseason: B -> not quite sure Burnett's the answer but we got Glaus to add some power and overbay >>>>> Hinske. We did have the opportunity to trade for zito but did not have the money after payin so much for Burnett/Ryan
Prediction: Maybe just maybe a chance at challenging for a WC bid, but as usually for the Jays they will suck and not mka the playoffs. 3rd in the AL East maybe even second if we get lucky. 90-95 wins at the most.

Royals...
Offseason: C+/B-
Big move in getting Mientkiewicz from the Mets, we need a better glove at first. Sweeney can hit, but he has hands of stone at first. Getting him allows Mike to DH. Reggie Sanders and Mark Grudzielanek from the Cards are also good acquisitions. Scott Elarton could be the wildcard. He comes from Colorado, where no one seems to pitch well. Maybe a move back the AL will help him.
But we need Greinke to come back with a much better season. Nothing like 15-17 wins, just a solid 10, 11, 12 wins will work. Emil Brown had a breakout year, and he will be counted on even more this year.
70-75 wins aren't out of the question.
