Also for the Reds I can't wait until a couple of years when our top pitching prospect, Homer Bailey (The latest in a long line of Texas flamethrowers), will be pitching for the major league club. It will give us an actual pitcher.

Offseason-D We did land Juan Pierre but we lost Mitre in order to get him. I rather have Pierre, but with how unconsisten Kerry Wood has been, if Mark Prior, Kerry Wood, and Carlos Zambrano play at their full potential, without throwing any chairs or getting injured eachone could have a 15-20 win season. But somehow we'll screw up. NL Central 1. St. Louis 2. Chicago Cubs 3.Cincinnati Reds 4. Houston Astros 5. Pittsburgh Pirates I dont believe the Astro's should've went to the world series and with how many oppertunitys that the White Sox gave the Astro's to win and have them end up screwed up made me lose intrest in the world series. St.Louis as always will be up their as hard as it is to admit it. I believe that if our top 3 pitchers can do their job without getting suspended or injured we could be number 1. But with Prior being injury prone and Kerry Wood injury prone and who likes to throw chairs at things it wont look like it. And as always the Pirates will continue to suck.

Aside from your terrible spelling and grammer, I completely disagree. Your throwing the WS runnerup to 4th? Wood had suregery I believe, and won't be back until May likely, and even then, it's not like he's going to be healthy all year. Same goes to Prior. If you're so convinced that your pitching staff will continue to suck, offensively the only improvement is Pierre, and the teams in your division improved a bit, shouldn't you be hoping to just move up to 3rd first? I see the Cubs in 4th, but 3rd if Prior and Wood are healthier (which it would be hard not be)...

I put the W.S. runner-up to fourth more on a biased hatred towards them for giving up so many chances to win a few games, the Anyone between 2-4 is a throw-up. If both of the pitchers do bad, they could easily be fighting for 4th with the Pirates.

Bah, at least mine somewhat makes sense. "I dont believe the Astro's should've went to the world series and with how many oppertunitys that the White Sox gave the Astro's to win and have them end up screwed up made me lose intrest in the world series." Was mine really as bad as that...
Edit: Bah, was that supposed to be a joke because you spelled atrocious wrong...

the BoSox will finish anywhere from third to first in the AL East I'm going to have to agree with this statement. It's a bold prediction...but if the Sox can stay healthy...I suppose I see it happening [/end sarcasm] That statement made my day. Seriously. Anyways...I disagree with cooljay, and I give the Jays offseason an A. If you look past the money...the Jays got Burnett, Ryan, Glaus, Overbay and Molina. I mean, how much more could you realistically do in an offseason. They addressed all kinds of needs, and I'm going to say they finish 2nd in the AL East, and in the wild card spot.

As much as I would love to the see the Sox and Yanks fall this year, jxtuoleafs, I'm afraid that the WC is a bit of a stretch. It would make me feel weird inside even saying they get 2nd in the division, but hey, if they do that, it's great for them. The O's gave it a run last year, maybe the Jays can actually finish the season ahead of at least one of them...

I would have much rather seen the Jays get a guy like Barry Zito and pay him a little more, than to have 2 guys like Burnett and Ryan. But anyways I do agree they did a much much better job than in the past and could possibly rewarded with a chance at a WC this year.

You can't look past the money, because it affects what they can do during the middle of the season and in the future, especially if Burnett and Ryan don't perform up to their contracts.

What would they do in the middle of the season that requires a ton of money? There's always guys like Ted Lilly who could realistically end up with another team...and in return, the Jays would get a salary dump basically.
For the first time in years and years, there is money in the organization...it's not a factor, and Ted Rogers, owner of the Blue Jays and the Rogers Centre, has said over and over that he will invest money into this program if necessary. He's kept true to his word so far...I just don't see him falling through.
As for the WC...thats a bit of the bias Jays fan in me speaking out. But for the most part, if things click this year, yes, that 4th playoff spot is in the cards.

If the Jays can stay healthy, they will take the Wild Card. Sep's AL Division Winners: White Sox Yankees Angels Wildcard Race (in order of most likely) Indians Red Sox Athletics Blue Jays I really dont see Toronto making too much noise this month, although 3rd in the AL East will be an improvement.
