Well, I started this thread around this time last year, figured I'd do it again this year.
As for me and my Cincinnati Reds, I'm not feeling too confident. Ever since Carl Linder became owner, we've gone downhill. All the man cared about is profits., but hopefully Robert Castellini can keep us going back towards the promise land We have so much outfield talent in our whole organization that it's rediculous. Dunn, or Griffey, should be traded, that's how I feel about it.
I'd say we're in for a 6th place season, maybe 100 losses. But we could surprise like last year, and somehow pull together a season that finishes just under .500. I long for the days when the Reds were a powerhouse, but Carl Linder drove n this ball-club into the ground, and now our new owner is trying to dig us out. Ole Marge may not have been the best, but at least we won with her in charge.
So, things may not be the best for the guys in the red white, and black, but things are looking up.

I actually have hope this year!
Playoffs again. Maybe a division title. After that? Who knows...

Royals: 90 loss potential Devil Rays: Could be third if some pitching questions are answered and management doesn't trade half the team for prospects...

I don't have high hopes this year. Pettite and Igawa will help the pitching, but otherwise, I don't see us doing that well in the playoffs, if we make the playoffs.

I'm not a huge baseball fan and never have been but have become somewhat of a Twins backer since I started working for the Indians and have had the pleasure of working with the Twins. They're all awesome guys, so it makes it easy to root for them.
On that note, the offense appears to be weak again outside of Mauer and Morneau and the staff looks to be in question outside of the almighty Santana. But Gardy (Ron Gardenhire) is a great manager and they've won when they weren't supposed to before, so nothing's out of the questions.

I would have to agree with DB about the Tigers. I see 90-100 wins and a division title. Possibly another World Series appearance depending on who we draw this time round 1. I can't wait to see Gary Sheffield, thats going to be great.

Why do you choose to support two teams that blow? I had high hopes for the Devil Rays last year. I honestly expected 4th place easily and possibly third, but that didn't happen. So I'm staying on them until they hit it big. And how can you not like the Royals. Don't mess with DeJesus. We already made our fantasy baseball league, and of the six people in it so far, five are named after KC...

The Blue Jays are due for a wildcard bid. They've already surpassed the Red Sox, and with hopefully a much better starting rotation with 1 or 2 journeymen (John Thompson, Tomo Ohka, Victor Zambrano, Josh Towers...some one to fill out the 4 and 5 slot), behind a healthy Halladay, Burnett and Chacin, the pitching appears to be strong. Plus we've got Ryan out in the pen who is just cash money.
Then the Big Hurt in the DH slot will be very nice, plus seeing Reed Johnson starting almost every game will be nice. Sad to see Catalanatto go, but, there were 4 starting outfielders in this town.
See you on opening day, DB.

The Blue Jays are due for a wildcard bid. Yeah, and the Cubs are due for a World Series. Detroit will not win more than 1 game in our opening series. Book it. Also who's going to win the WC then this year? The Twins?

As for the Devil Rays like McGahee mentioned... They added one good play while losing Julio Lugo who I an dissapointed to point out was one of our best player. We seem to develop players in time for the to get sick of playing for a bad team in a bad field and they leave. They will finish last again. The real story is if we can keep our quality players.
The Boston Redskins didn't do much but snab Disuke Matsusaka who is either going to play well or make us wish we had our 50 Million dollars back. We were a good team last year but tried the young pitching thing.
Schilling needs to shut his mouth and pitch, Becket needs to find composure and we need to get quality releiving to play better this year. Willy Mo Pena will replace Trot Nixon rather well. Probably 2nd behind the Yanks again.

I think he meant Boston is similar to the Washington Redskins in terms of getting players that underachieve.
