First off, I don't think the Red Sox should have retaliated (sp?) for Mike Lowell. I don't even think the pitch that hit him was close to being intentional. The only reason Proctor threw at Youkilis's head was because they hit A-Rod.

Scott Proctor tried to take Youkilis' (spelling?) head off today (technically yesterday, but whatever) If I were in the organization, I would send the whole team to Baseball Etiquette 101. Was there a batter on his team hit before he did this? If so, then he did the right thing, defending his teammate. Throwing at a batter to defend a teammate is one thing but Proctor thinking he can put it up that close and not hit the head is outrageous. Also, I heard Jorge told him not to throw at a batter, just end the game.

Obviously I didn't even see it, but I was only asking if another batter was hit before him.
And to Usma, when retaliating, I would've thrown at the guy's head as well.

So you are willing to risk severely injuring a player by throwing at his head? Think if you threw as hard as Scott Proctor. That could kill a person. Maybe you don't think of it because you compete against teens. If you compete against someone older who may have a child, I don't think you would want to risk their life because a pitcher hit a few of your players.

Well, not really throwing it at their head, mostly just throwing it inside enough to get my point across.
God, I am saying a lot of stupid things today.

Proctor says it wasn't intential. It was a 2-2 pitch so I'll take his word because I'd rather get the batter out than throw at him, especially his head, with 2 strikes. If he was gonna throw at him, he would've done it on the first or second pitch as is normally done. Definitely a good game by the Yanks nonetheless and hopefully it'll continue today.
As for A-Rod, the "HA!" thing is fair game and that career minor leaguer needs to get over it. Lots of people have been talking about the way A-Rod's playing this year but I'll tell you what...at least he's really trying this season and if that means playing a little bit like Ty Cobb so be it. We need more players looking to do what they have to to get something done like he has been doing.

Can someone tell me why it's okay for Mike Lowell to knock Robinson Cano on his ass, but not for A-Rod to hit Pedroia??

Because Mike Lowell isn't a whiny bitch.

If Tampa Bay can just beat the Royals already (even if I am a Royals fan) then the Yankees can move back to last...

I'd just like to say that the Yankees still suck. They're aggrivating is what they are... Abreu sucks though, that's for sure, won't be seeing him next year. A-Rod wins it! ;D

Abreu sucks though, that's for sure, won't be seeing him next year. I remember seeing this play and turning it off. I was tempted to turn on later thinking something may have happened but I thought it was best that I go to sleep while it was tied. Abreu doesn't suck, but he needs to definitely pull his bat out of his ass, along with others like Damon. The Menktuoyeursjdhwic injury actually made me laugh. What else can go wrong? Damon playing first, hahahahahaha.

Abreu's always been garbage... fantasy-wise he has value, but you can guarantee if you need a meaningful hit, he won't give it to you. He'll draw a walk, but he steps up when you're down 10-1 in 9th inning, rather than when it's 6-5...

Roger Clemens' groin. That is all. $20 mil for an injured groin. I swear, there must be a cloud of bad luck surrounding the Bronx. As soon as starting pitchers step into this cloud, something on their body breaks, pulls, strains, etc. I hate the Yankee$ as much as the next guy...but this just isn't their year.

Speaking of pitchers, they're now attempting to stop the bleeding with the signing of Runelvys Hernandez.
A guy who couldn't even make it on the Royals.

I doubt they plan on him doing that...or even starting.
