Well not only the steriods stuff, but the perjury stuff, and him just being an arrogant douche to teammates over the years. Hell, when he was in college I think his teammates voted him off the team 20 something to 2.

Yeah he's an arrogant asshole, but there are many of them in sports. The Barry hate is media driven, and there is little doubt in my mind. Clinton perjured himself Freak, but few seem to care about that really. Hell you could argue Barry's perjury was about less serious things than Clinton's. *I'm assuming he perjured himself, I actually didn't follow the Grand Jury circus*
Bonds has never been warm and fuzzy in the media, and it's led to his portrail as a huge dick. If he was an arrogant bastard, but was a media darling, everyone would be happy about this.
Also it's hypocritical imo to be all pissy about him cheating.Athletes since the beggining of sport have been looking for that substance that gives them the edge. If you ask me, Roger Clemens has used steroids, but I honestly don't think anyone would care nearly as much if that came out. Barry is a dick, I don't really care for him as a person, but I think he gets a bum rap from the media and baseball fans in general.

that's unfair for "cheat" and "cheater" to redirect to Bonds...hell Pete Rose betted on the game, the cardinal sin of baseball and he doesn't catch the flack that Bonds does...people act like cheating in baseball is new or something, there are some HOF pitchers who were known cheaters before they were inducted and still got in

As long as sports will be played, there will be cheaters.

Interesting Fact:
The pitcher Barry hit 755 off of, was busted for using steroids in the minors.

I also feel it is much worse. Not only that, but Pete Rose betting on games did not involve the greatest record in all of sports. You are right about the cheaters though, but I think people are much more accepting of a spitball then increasing your body size in unnatural ways.

I'm glad I caught it, but who really cares? A-Rod will break it soon. Did you guys see the mob around the ball after it was in the stands? Somebody probably got hurt. Then they had to escourt? the guy with the ball out, like 6 cops around him...how much do you think he'll get for that ball?

I love how everyone hated A-Rod last year but now he is going to be the savior for the home run record.

I love how everyone hated A-Rod last year but now he is going to be the savior for the home run record. They probably just hated the Yankees. And generalized him in with that. But now that he might be leaving New York, people are starting embrace him. The home run thing doesn't hurt either.

So if A-Rod stays in New York he will be disliked? Maybe it is just outrageous for me to think that at the time the record is broken, the majority will have respect for the player. I still think it is going to be a long long time until baseball sees that player with the record who will have the same respect Hank Aaron receives. Honestly, the steroid era of baseball freaking blows.

So if A-Rod stays in New York he will be disliked? By the many people who just live and breathe to hate anything to do with the Yankees. Yes.
