I know Barry took roids and has a bad character but i cant help but watch him as he breaks this record. When he's at bat, it gets my full attention and when he hits the ball my heart skips. I just hope he breaks the record in San Francisco because he'll get shot if he does it in Los Angeles.

This is going to be A-Rod's record anyway, so I don't really care that much that Barry is going to break the record. He used Roids, but we know he was in a likely majority of players that did. Basically BFD, this is the "steroids area" and the only reason people act all high and mighty about it is because Bonds comes off as a grade-A asshole. Let a guy like Jeter go for this record, and the only people bitching about steroids would be BoSox fans. I do wish the guy that was going to win was more of a likeable guy, but I guess I feel glad to at least be able to see history be made.

It gives me a reason to follow baseball before the playoffs start.

Well, he hit 755 in his first at bat tonight.

I still have some anger towards Bonds for his attitude towards everything and the possible black eye he gave baseball. When I saw him going around the bases though, I guess I found a little bit of respect for him. He has done his own thing without caring what anyone did or said. He just does his thing, love it or hate it, he is going to do it.

Glad he tied it early tonight, I have to drive to Slidell tomorrow early, and kind of have been watching to see if he would do it.

Anyway, I disagree with him giving baseball a black eye. It's the steroid era, and we know he wasn't the only guy using them. Plus, with all the attention on him, there is no way he is using them now unless he just wants to be caught. We're lucky to get a chance to see sports history guys, don't let your hate (mostly media driven if you ask me) keep you from seeing this.
