LOL only a boston idiot could come up with this thread. He'll end up the best player ever without any drug controversy or legal issues.
1) Best player in the game deserves the biggest contract, AMIRITE?
2) Best player in the game has the right to think he's the best player in the game, AMIRITE?
3) If Yankee fans don't appreciate 2 MVPs, 173 HR, and 513 RBI in four years, why would he want to stay AMIRITE?
4) .856 OPS in the postseason. Jeter .846 OPS. But Jeter is ZOMG TEH CLUTCH!!11! AMIRITE?

You realize how much his contract is already though? I just dislike him for his arrogance. He finally did something in the playoffs but it was when it didn't matter, when he had big chances he blew it...as usual. That's besides the point though, he doesn't deserve $3498394839 million dollars and any other man would've been happy with what he's getting, Barry freakin' Bonds included!

Im sure he was happy with what he was getting, he just didn't like playing for unappreciative, direspectful jackasses. I wouldn't either.

I know it might've looked like that from the outside but no one was booing him or anything this season nor last season except for when he was playing like complete shit like at the beginning and end of the season and so ESPN made it into a big thing. No one shit on him this year and no one shit on him in 04 or 05 till he started showing how much he really could choke. I know you're praying the Marlins get him or something but don't go by everything you've heard on ESPN or from him.

The contract. I understand that the best player should be paid the most, but come the fuck on. I guess I have a problem with athletes being overpaid in general.

An athlete shouldn't be paid any more than anyone who has a large influence over the world.
So either scientists and politicians should be getting paid $250m a year, or we should lower athletes' salaries below $400k.
Also, I hate A-Rod because he left the Yankees. I was really hoping he would stick around a few more years to screw over whatever playoff chances they had.

A-Rod is not arrogant. I have never thought that even before he came to New York. It's because he's on the Yankees and because he took the big contract.

I hate A-Rod's agent for upstaging the World Series. Of course, upstaging the World Series nowadays isn't hard to do.

I'll just be laughing when those idiots are pissed next year because they've lost nearly 100 runs of offensive value. Better find a good replacement.

None of the answers apply. I like A-Rod. I think people are on his nuts too much. I hope the Red Sox go after him...

I think we'll get over the .3 runs per game he added average-wise over the passed four season vs. 2003. Our pitching is bound to be improving anyway and pitching is what wins.
EDIT: And .11 from 2002.

He has an average VORP of 72.9 over the past four season. You don't just find 73 runs a year off the street.
And just saw the yahoo report listing Florida as one of the top ten teams in the A-Rod race. This is going to be big. Holla.

He won't go to the Yankees and, despite having a great year this season, is not close to A-Rod offensively.
