Baseball would be 20 times worse if those other teams actually paid out like the Sox and Yanks do now that I think of it. Ticket prices would be through the roof, tax payers would have a whole heap of taxes to pay for new stadiums, and Adam Eaton would be a $100 Million Dollar player...
Baseballs salary situation is a joke. Soon enough someone will get off their ass and fix it so that 1/3 of the league isn't losing money any more, but until then I'll enjoy seeing the Sox take the Series again this year in thrilling 4 game fashion. Oh wait, that's the reason why baseball blows now...

So you think the Devil Rays make as much as the yanks do? Or how about the Expos (when the existed)? I don't think I have ever seen a devil rays game where the stadium was half full. The expos sold out like once in their last 5 years and that was the last home game of their existence They don't have money because they've never bothered to try and field even one superstar for their fans to see. david made is pretty clear the Marlins could've opened up their wallets, signed A-Rod, and brought in a LOT of fans. If the Marlins can sign A-Rod, which they wouldn't do because the owner trades away their talent and THAT is why people won't go to games, surely the Rays or Nationals can sign SOMEONE. The Rays definitely, at least 18 or however many of their home games vs. the Yanks and Red Sox are always packed full. It's not like people don't care about baseball in Tampa seriously...they love the Yankees. The Rays laid back while the Diamondbacks went out and did what a team was supposed to do and they won a WS in their fourth season and have been to playoffs how many times?

Well Spartan, my favorite team is the WORLD-FAMOUS Tampa Bay Rays. And we're currently kicking your candy ass to the curb. So ha.

Good things the Yanks signed LaTroy Hawkins. If there's a guy that gets the Cy Young as a middle reliever, it sure will be him this year after today's start...

The Rays whooped that Yankees ass...great stuff to watch.
and I secured a ticket to their season opener against the Mariners. Tampa's looking good right now and the city is buzzing about them.

Today Jonny Gomes got 4 RBIs against Andy Pettite as the D-Rays won, 6-3. The Yankees are now 2-3, also known as being under .500.

They started...
2-3 in 1996 2-3 in 1997 1-4 in 1998 1-4 in 2006 and 2-3 in 2007...
They seemed to do quite alright making the playoffs those years and winning the World Series twice.

I have never understood this but maybe somebody could answer:
Why does everyone hate the Yanks? (Bstn don't answer we know your reasons)

I have never understood this but maybe somebody could answer: Why does everyone hate the Yanks? (Bstn don't answer we know your reasons) Because they win, they spend all this money, and if you want the honest truth, very likely partly because of ESPN. heh... We "ruined" the game because Steinbrenner started to throw around all his money to build a winner when in reality, it's the made the game more interesting then it was in the late 80's/early 90's.

I hate the Yankees because I was brought up that way. And because I can. Y'know, why not?
