Hey, it's less than two months till pitchers and catchers report....
Anxiously awaiting Spartan to tell me that I'm obsessive.

In January? Are we serious here? On my search to prove people wrong about your post about Michigan's crop circles, I read through said thread about Michigan crop circles and the Yankees Suck thread was mentioned, which reminded me that it needed to be started for '08.

In a perfect world, both the Red Sox and Yankees miss the playoffs.

In a perfect world, both the Red Sox and Yankees miss the playoffs. Maybe for like 60% of baseball fans. It would be terrible for ratings and baseball. No one even cares about the playoffs when they go out in the first round.

No one even cares about the playoffs when they go out in the first round. of the remaining 40%, most of them are just fanboys anyways, so really, baseball's better off. and yes, it would be incredibly terrible for baseball that the two teams who combined have a higher payroll than the rest of the league would miss the playoffs. god forbid other teams in markets that haven't seen a playoff team in quite some time would get the opportunity... bud selig should make it mandatory that the sox and yankees both clinch playoff berths just for playing in all 162 games so that every baseball fan and ESPN is happy...

First off, it's not our fault GM's and Owners like the Royals, Rays, Orioles, etc. are cheap, greedy people. Neither team "buys" their team like everyone likes to insist, just look at the rosters, but we're not gonna lay around and play 20-year old kids all across the board like all the garbage teams do because they rather turn a buck then risk it when it's pretty clear fielding a better team = a lot more money. And honestly, as much sarcasm as you used there, it's the truth that baseball suffers when they fall out in the first round.
And ESPN hates the Yankees, don't know how you didn't pick that one up yet.

And ESPN hates the Yankees, don't know how you didn't pick that one up yet. Is that why Sportscenter has a nightly segment on Yankee Stadium?

Yankee Stadium is a pretty big piece of American history as a whole, let alone baseball.
And a nightly segment of Peter Gammons or Kirkjian or however you spell his name, taking a dump on them more than makes up for it.

So ESPN may hate them, but they get a ridiculous amount of press coverage.

They aired a whole freakin show about them last summer... they don't hate them, they just toy with them to make them out as if they're a villain to add drama to the boring sport that is baseball. It's really the only way to add flavor to the sport.

In a perfect world, both the Red Sox and Yankees finish 4th and 5th in the AL East every season for the rest of eternity. Fixed. It's like QFT Plus!

You know it's baseball season when the Yankees/Red Sox fans are in a pissing match with the fans of the small-market clubs.
An annual rite of passage.

God athletes are horribly overpaid

So you think the Devil Rays make as much as the yanks do? Or how about the Expos (when the existed)? I don't think I have ever seen a devil rays game where the stadium was half full. The expos sold out like once in their last 5 years and that was the last home game of their existence
