I was so damn close on my prediction. I said 6-2 if Nittimaki plays, 8-1 if Esche does... oh well, I'll take an extra goal  And nobody can possibly blame Esche for that loss. That was probably one of the worst defensive efforts I've ever witnessed. Hatcher, as I've said in the past, is one of the biggest wastes of space, both on the ice and on the cap. He's just too slow to do anything legal now. Pitkanen and Freddy Meyer right now are the only promising defensemen on the team, as far as I'm concerned. And if this is still the "Bad Boys of Hockey", where was any of that last night? All I saw was stupid penalties and a total lack of retaliation when Peters hit Forsberg. Peters was laughing at how poor it was for crying out loud. Anywho, Dallas lost last night, so it's just Buffalo and Minnesota as the unbeatens right now. Fernandez is playing out of his mind right now, and is unquestionably the early front-runner for the Vezina... |

My parents are going back to pbuffalo this weekend to see the sabres play and all my mom can keep sayying is that's going to be the night they lose. typical buffalo fan

We already have enough bad luck with where we play, we don't need fans jinxing it too. Hey, now that I think about it, you ever think that Scott Norwood sits at home knitting "Die Jim, Die" potholders ala Ray Finkel? I just thought that would be funny. |

Minnesota loses and Buffalo wins, making Buffalo the only undefeated team in the league at 7-0-0.
San Jose and the Wild play tonight, which should be a great game...
And the Flyers are sucking at an amazing rate... people thought they'd struggle a bit, but nobody did so at these proportions...

Ed Snyder is the worst owner in the league for this. Why wouldn't you just wait to see how your team does once it actually plays some home games? Six of the first eight were on the road, and now you've got the next 5 (and 6 of the next 7) at home. Snyder's going absolutely ballistic after a little slow start. If they would have just kept the lines the same and give time for them to gel (and maybe make some better personnel decisions defensively which is just as much Snyder's fault as it is Clarks for being so involved in the organization) then I'd expect a strong rebound.
