I think any deal for Forseberg is good. Also, I think it would be nice to see Esche moved. I would be okay with Leighton as the number two netminder. Also, I heard a rumor a western conference team has shown interest in Derian Hatcher. I think if they can get a decent deal for him, they should do it. Rathje is pretty much retired so that helps get rid of one of the road cones.

so that helps get rid of one of the road cones. LMAO. Your damn right. And Leighton looked pretty good against Detroit the other day...and with my hate of Robert Esche...I think they should move Esche

Esche can go anywhere if you ask me. I'll take anything.

A couple of things from me about this one: I'm just glad Forsberg didn't go to Detroit. I'd seriously have to question being a fan of his (nothing against him) if he ever suited up as a Red Wing. This looks like a good deal for both sides. Philly gets rid of him and picks up a couple of solid prospects and picks. Forsberg gets a fresh start for a good team gearing up for a cup run. Nashville paid a steep price, but for the kind of performances he's given in the past, he'll be worth it.

Ryan Parent and the first round pick are nice (even though the pick will actually be more of a 2nd round pick seeing how it will be so late) but they unquestionably got raped in this deal. Unless they're 100% sure he'll come back next season, it doesn't really fit.
Before this trade, Nashville, at worst, could have been considered the 2nd or 3rd best team in the West but probably the best. Now they're far and away superior. Forsberg-Kariya-Sullivan is too beastly, and add in the best goalie combo in the league...
Forsberg winning a cup might send him back to Philly ala Mark Recchi with the Pens and Canes...

Nashville has a reputation to send 1st rounders for players that might leave at the end of the year... like last year when they sent a 1st to Washington for Brenden Witt... Witt ended up signing with the Islanders in FA

yeah but Forsberg will be a key player for them if he stays healthy. He's gonna be good.

I think if you're Nasvhille, you look at his playoff track record and nothing else. The guy has played through a separated shoulder (99' conference finals vs Dallas) and with a ruptured spleen (game 7 of the 01' quarters) and still had an impact. And don't forget '02 when he sat out the regular season and came back and lit up the playoffs. Nashville wins on this deal, regardless of whether or not he's in a nashville jersey next year.

Forsberg was rumored to have supposed to play last night but didn't. He'll make his debut today against the Wild...

I hope Buffalo makes a deal to grab another veteran defender. I just don't want a repeat of last year.

Yeah we're starting to get raped by injuries now with Connolly and the Afinegenov scare a few days ago. We need to stack up on depth while we can...

Scottie Upshall didn't look bad at all in his first game. He was on the ice a lot and he had a goal. The game itself was great seeing the Flyers knock 4 Rangers out of the game.

Alex Koryluk traded to the Sharks, and is expected to get some quality minutes...

And the injury bug for the Sabres strikes again. Ales Kotalik left the game with an unknown injury. Yikes..
