I hope OU wins...i listen to the Gator Nation down here and they're acting like they already one the title. Hell, even the sports radio stations i listen to arent giving OU a shot because "defense doesnt exist in the Big 12"Unfortunatly, I think the Gators will take the Sooners behind the shed and chop em up. Gators win 34-17. If they are thinking like this, OU will win. OU is a legit team.

could you take OU taking home a national title? I read through your response and noticed I never answered this as I scrolled past... Yeah, I have no problem with it. If UT had been playing well towards the end of the season, then I might take issue of it - but they haven't looked decent recently. Again, I think Monday's game was their worst of the year. It sucks, but what can you do in the system. Unfortunately, UT didn't play the 4th quarter in the majority of their games this year and that's simply what did them in. I do semi-agree with the UT fans bitching that the "classy" bob stoops was far from it playing his starters DEEP into blowouts but, at the same time, it was the smart move in the end. The general thought in Austin is Mack Brown better hang 60, 70+ on every team this coming year and play the starters 60 minutes a game - it's the only way to guarantee the trip to the championship. I was talking to my bro-in-law last night about it (he's in the band at UT)... I was telling him depending on the game tomorrow... I would PROBABLY go tomorrows winner 1, Utah 2, USC 3, probably tomorrows loser 4, and UT 5 (if it's based on the current weekly style polls - not ranking everyone's overall seasons because that's rarely how the final poll is voted). It won't end up that way, but that's probably how I'd vote for now. All three of the polls will be different 1-8 or 9 though.

Class doesn't win championships, that is the lesson to be learned. There is just too much money involved for people to really worry about class and sportsmanship anymore. Not that I really care that much, unless you're skullfucking some nobody school for shits and giggles.

Texas, whose fans were maddest at the Sooners because of their down-to-the-wire battle for a BCS berth, scored 21.8 percent of its points in the fourth quarter. Florida: 22.8 percent. And USC was the team most likely to pad its margin late at 23.6 percent.

Fair enough - good stat... the opposing fact is Bradford and the starters staying in and still throwing downfield later than McCoy and his starters. I can say I've seen almost every OU game and every UT game, I do know for a fact I saw Bradford in at points where everyone would wonder why he's still out there... There were some points where Chiles (UT) came in and Colt could easily have stayed out there (that's the main thing I take issue with, numbers or not). To OU's credit, they would run too just to kill it but they'd also take shows downfield.
So it's the perception then - but kudos to OU being able to lay 50 pts in the first 2-3 quarters and just get a few more in the 4th. They probably did have the most lopsided halftime scores of any team in the country and that shows offensive dominance.
One other thing - remember the computers don't pay attention to when those points are scored and how... and they put OU into the B12 championship game

You're right - I obviously have no idea about line play or holding. God, what was I thinking. Never said that you didn't, I just think you were letting your bias get in the way (How ironic is this coming from me?) Run blocking the whole line blocked well... Boone overpowered Okrapu (IDK how to spell) and this is a line built out of run blockers.. pass protection was another story because I'm pretty sure Boone got windburn from him running by.

Personally I think it should be taken into account up to 21+ or so.

You're right - that was removed this year, wasn't it (or last year - whenever). I forgot about that - margin of victory weighed pretty well when I was in college.

I'm a little torn on the outcome...On one hand, I hate hearing about the SEC, but on the other, I've grown a general dislike for OU, and part of me is satisfied to see Stoops lose another big game in front of the entire country.

Floridaaaaaaaa. Eat it Big 12 and your clearly not so good offenses. Anyone want to change their Heisman votes? To McCoy at least?

ehh...idk I thought the game could go either way...
IMHO, in the first half OU completely dominated the game and should have been up by at least 2 scores, while I thought Florida dominated the second half

Im pretty sure it was removed the same time that the AP took itself out, so the year after the USC/LSU split. enjoyed watching the game tonight, very intense battle for second place this year.

It was as close as I expected, even with OU leaving 14 points on the field.

Go Gators Its a great time to be a Gator fan, two out of the last three now. The dominance of Florida and the SEC continues. Oh, and for those that wish Utah would of gotten a shot at the championship or a playoff, I agree. But call me bias but I cant imagine them beating us in a championship game or playoff game.
