Iowa....Only Big Ten Win BABY!!!! lol :-) People, including myself, said it was very possible that would be long before the games happened..so it's not much of a surprise. South Carolina has made a team out of choking after starting 6-1 or so.

i will stand by us getting fucked on that spot though Seriously? The spot was solid - nothing in doubt like the Baltimore/Pittsburgh game. My thoughts, as unbiased as possible (I thought UT wasn't going to be worth crap this year because McCoy wasn't going to be as good)... Greg Davis is afraid to go down field - too many screens and dumps for negative or no yards... always a problem. Changing up the tempo was a great adjustment - once they got up 17-6, they should have blown it open but went back to playing the first half style (something done all across texas at every level). Wells was very good... that said, OSU held more than any team I've seen in a long time and got away with most of it (don't call this a homer statement... most of you know I was a lineman for many many years). That is what gave Wells the good numbers - Orakpo and Melton were held on the end tons - that's why Miller had the game to get outstanding def player. He was free up front almost all game to get anything inside... otherwise the DE's are eating up a lot of those numbers. Even with what the announcers said, the Texas run D is much better than most think but the secondary and LB's at times are atrocious... young, but atrocious. Will Muschamp is HORRIBLY overrated and there is no way he ever becomes head coach at UT. I hate the hype around him - everyone loves him because he jumps up and down - he had tons of talent and couldn't do shit with it. This was UT's poorest showing by far in my opinion. I thought OSU played very well. They moved the ball well - defense kept UT in check most of the game - I don't know what else they could have done better. For UT, fortunately the offense strung together a couple of drives - otherwise they were totally screwed and didn't deserve to win the game.

Obviously there were some situations where they were held, but to say that holding gave Wells his numbers is pure bullshit His big runs came from patience and hitting the hole at precisely the right time, combined with the fact that its going to take 5 DB's to bring him down in the open field really you have to be kidding me if you think we got away with a ton of holding... your dline got flat out overpowered.

You're right - I obviously have no idea about line play or holding. God, what was I thinking.
Outside of the one solid OSU lineman who played well, I don't think overpowered is even anywhere near reality... I guess I didn't watch the same game.
Also, Pryor has the potential to be great if he gains any football intelligence.
And Jake, nothing wrong with going against UT... I was thrilled to see Ole Miss knock off Tech though - I had a suspicion it was coming.

I knew we were going to beat Tech. Haven't been that sure of a game in a long time. What are you're feelings on the game Thursday and could you take OU taking home a national title?

I haven't seen enough of Florida to really have an opinion. I was at a football game every single weekend this year - be it UT, Texas State, high school or NFL so I don't want to make much of a comment when I really am not that informed on them. Oklahoma's O line is dominant (I don't know shit about line play though )... best in the nation probably (with respect to Bama)... but I am unfamiliar with how Florida's D matches up against them. Bradford is very good, but not as good as McCoy - the O line inflated Bradford greatly but he is surrounded by talent... I don't know enough about Florida's LB's and secondary but I'd assume OU could put up at least 31, 35. I expected UT to put up similar numbers though. If I REALLY had to guess - my feelings are OU goes in the 30's... maybe super high 20's - does UF have the firepower to match it against? Again, outside of Harvin and Tebow, I really don't know too much. I'd guess an OU win, close game - wouldn't put much money on it at all... I'd put a little more money on the under though... a 70 pt line is a touch high in my opinion. I don't think the winner puts up more than 35... but that's all a quite uneducated guess.

Yeah, I know Florida a lot better than I know Oklahoma. Florida's strength on defense is speed. You'll be hard pressed to find a faster defense outside of SC. They are a touch undersized up front, but that speed caused Bama hell. I do think Oklahoma has a much better pass blocking line, so maybe it'll be a different story. This isn't some SEC speed argument either, Florida is just flat out fast. They were playing great defense to end the year too. I'm pretty sure only two teams came within three touchdowns of them this year, Ole Miss and Alabama.
Offense is the same way, they have the fastest skill position guys in the country. Their running backs are almost as quick as Harvin and they will get used. Florida just doesn't run with Tebow this year, they use three or four other guys with speed to move the ball. Countered very well by the powerhouse Tebow. Their offensive line isn't that great though. Oklahoma will be able to get pressure on Tebow. Hasn't seemed to matter much this year. Tebow has had to make few hard throws. Everything seems to be a 15 yard in to Harvin and he does the rest. You aren't going to see Tebow making McCoy type passes, but the son of a bitch will move the ball up and down the field.
I like a lower scoring game...just because everyone is thinking a ton of points. I'm thinking 32-28 UF.

I hope OU wins...i listen to the Gator Nation down here and they're acting like they already one the title. Hell, even the sports radio stations i listen to arent giving OU a shot because "defense doesnt exist in the Big 12"
Unfortunatly, I think the Gators will take the Sooners behind the shed and chop em up. Gators win 34-17.
