PITTSBURGH STEELERS (4-3) at WASHINGTON REDSKINS (5-3) Week 9 -- Monday, November 03rd 2008, 8:30 PM Teams| 1st| 2nd| 3rd| 4th| FinalPittsburgh| 0 | 3 | 3| 6 | 12 Washington| 7 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 10 Jeff Reed's victory ! 1st Half:Fedex field, the location of the game between the Steelers and the Washington Redskins in week 9 of this NFL Season. The Redskins would be the first team to oppose a treat getting into scoring position. They'd score a touchdown on a nice throw by one of the surprising QB in the NFL this season Jason Campbell. He threw a nice pass to Chris Cooley to give his team a 7-0 lead. Ben Roethlisberger would have to be replaced by Charlie Batch at the end of the first quarter due to an injury. The Steelers would still managed to get on the board with a nice 44 yard field goal by Jeff Reed. On the next Redskins drive, James Farrior would manage to pick Campbell off and get into scoring position. Roethlisberger would be back for this drive but he'd throw the costly interception in the endzone...The Redskins would score on a field goal just before halftime to take a 7 points lead. 2nd Half: The Steelers would come back from the locker room pumped up and they did a very nice drive. Unfortunately for them, they could not complete it and were forced to kick a 44 yard field goal. 10-6 Redskins at that moment. The Steelers would manage to cut the lead in the 4th quarter on another field goal by Jeff Reed. 10-9 Redskins. Would the missed opportunity in the redzone kill the Steelers ? Well they'd get a chance to take the lead having the ball on their 28 yard line with 2:28 remaining. They'd get a first down on a nice clutch catch by Hines Ward on fourth down. After that, they'd get a nice catch from Holmes to get into the redzone. Jeff Reed would give the Steelers a 12-10 lead with 30 seconds remaining in the game. Could the Redskins manage to get back the lead. First play, incomplete pass. Second play 9 yard pass, clock running, ball spiked. Last play, hail mary, missed. Steelers win. Scoring Summary:

This is good. It may be the spark DC needs? Thanks for the feedback. Althought I don't think this is the spark DC needs, if it can push people into doing things... I'll be glad.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (7-1) at PITTSBURGH STEELERS (5-3) Week 10 -- Sunday, November 09rd 2008, 4:15 PM Teams| 1st| 2nd| 3rd| 4th| FinalPittsburgh| 0 | 7 | 3| 0 | 10 Indianapolis| 7 | 0 | 0 | 7 | 14 What a game ! 1st Half:What a matchup we had today, Peyton Manning and the 7-1 Colts against the Steelers. We all knew this would be an offensive matchup between two pretty damn good offense. The Colts would show off their big weapons on the first drive of the game but a rare Addai fumble would give the Steelers a break. The Colts would come back later on thought and this time Manning would give his team the lead with a nice pass to his TE Dallas Clark. 7-0 Colts. Hines Ward would propulse his team back into this one with a huge 46 yard reception and the touchdown. 7-7 at the halftime in one of the most incredible NFL game we've seen so far this season. 2nd Half: Back from the locker room, the Steelers would put up a very nice opening drive ending it with a 37 yard field goal by Jeff Reed. Peyton Manning and the Colts would not let that get in the way of their objective. They would rally up and put up a big drive in the 4th quarter to give the Colts a 4 points lead on a 11 yard pass from Manning to Reggie Wayne. His 10th touchdown reception of the season. The Steelers would have the chance to get together a last 2 minute drive in the end of this game. After getting down the field Big Ben would connect with Heath Miller but the big tight end would fumble the ball at a crucial moment and the Colts would recover the ball. The Colts would kill the clock and run away with the win. 14-10 Colts the final score. Scoring Summary:

Colts TD -- Clark 15 yard pass from Manning - 0:34

Breaking News The Saints have announced the released of former Pro Bowl kicker Martin Gramatica. "Taylor Mehlhaff is our kicker for this season and Martin is no longer in our plans. It's sad but we are an honest team and we hope he'll find a new job somewhere else" said the Saints GM in a press conference. Also in New Orleans, it has been reported that they've agreed with QB Chris Simms to a 5 year deal worth 9.15M. No reason for this signing were heard so far.

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (6-3) at PITTSBURGH STEELERS (5-4) Week 11 -- Sunday, November 16th 2008, 4:15 PM Teams| 1st| 2nd| 3rd| 4th| FinalPittsburgh| 7 | 0 | 0| 0 | 7 San Diego| 0 | 10 | 6 | 9 | 25 Bad day at work ! 1st Half:It was a very important game for the Steelers facing off the 6-3 Chargers while they had a 5-4 record. They knew it and made up for it, scoring the first on a nice 7 yard pass from Ben Roethlisberger to his tight end Heath Miller. 7-0 Steelers. Unfortunately for them, it would be all Chagers afterwards. Kaeding would put his team on the board with a 47 yard field goal to cut the lead at 4 points. Vincent Jackson would score a touchdown a couple of minutes later on a 9 yard pass from Billy Volek backing up the injured Philip Rivers. Chargers would then lead 10-7 going into half time. 2nd Half: In the third quarter of this game, Nate Kaeding would kick back to back field goals and that would give the Chargers a 9 point lead going into fourth quarter. Big Ben would have a lot of trouble finding his receivers in this one throwing many interceptions. A bad day at work for Big Ben that's for sure. The Steelers could not get anything going on offense because of all those turnovers. The Chargers would capitalize that's for sure. Tomlinson, who'd be the first runninngback this year to have success against the Steelers run defense, would score a touchdown in the 4th quarter to give his team a comfortable lead. Chargers totally own the Steelers all the way in this one which is pretty surprising. Good news for the Steelers, they are facing the ucky Bengals next week. Scoring Summary:
1st Quarter
Steelers TD -- Miller 7 yard pass from Roethlisberger -2:00

They are 1-9 this season their only win coming off against the Titans in week 2, a 10-7 victory. Pathetic. After a Steelers field goal, the Bengals would reply right back with a touchdown on a nice catch by Caldwell, 7-3 Bengals. The Bengals would add 3 more points in the 2nd quarter to take a surprising 10-3 lead going into hafltime. Could the Steelers drop another one ? Against these poor Bengals ?!! 2nd Half: The Steelers would not let themself get beat like that. Willy Parker would finally score a touchdown, a very important one to tie the game up at 10. The Bengals would retake the lead at the end of the 3rd quarter on another field goal by Graham. Ben Roethlisberger would lead his team on a nice offensive drive that would be completed by a touchdown. The first touchdown of the season for FB Davis to give the Steelers the lead for the first time of the game in the 4th quarter. The Bengals would get some chances to put up some points on the board but without any success. Steelers win ! Scoring Summary:

PITTSBURGH STEELERS (6-5) at NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (8-3) Week 13 -- Sunday, November 30th 2008, 1:00 PM Teams| 1st| 2nd| 3rd| 4th| FinalPittsburgh| 0 | 0 | 0| 0 | 0 New England| 0 | 3| 7 | 7 | 17 Good even without Brady. 1st Half:
The Patriots are 4-3 without their starting quarterback Tom Brady injured for the rest of the season with a dislocated ankle. Still they'll probably make the playoffs having a 8-3 record so far this season. Both teams would have difficulties moving the ball on offense in the first quarter of this game. Jeff Reed would miss a field goal due to the wind and the score'd be 0-0 after one quarter. The Patriots would get into the redzone at the very end of the 2nd quarter. The Steelers would limit the damage and force the Patriots to kick a short field goal. 3-0 Patriots at the half. The Steelers could not get any points even thought Willie Parker had a very nice first half. 2nd Half:On their first possession of the half , the Patriots would show the Steelers how it's done. They'd go all the way down the field and score the touchdown on an incredible 53 yard pass from Cassel to Washington. 10-0 Patriots at that moment. The Steelers would not get anything going on offense all game long and Big Ben would commit many turnovers, 3 interceptions. The Patriots would easily win this one 17-0 even without their starting QB Tom Brady... That's not good news for the other AFC teams. Scoring Summary:

DALLAS COWBOYS (7-5) at PITTSBURGH STEELERS (6-6) Week 14 -- Sunday, December 07th 2008, 4:15 PM Teams| 1st| 2nd| 3rd| 4th| FinalPittsburgh| 14 | 7 | 7| 3 | 34 Dallas| 7 | 7 | 7 | 10 | 31 All out offense 1st Half:
The Steelers had lost 3 of their last 4 games prior to this game against the Dallas Cowboys. After a couple of punts by both teams, the Steelers would finally manage to score some points. It'd come on a giant gain by Hines Ward on a nice pass from Roethlisberger. Ward's 4th touchdown reception of the season on a 83 yard gain. Steelers had a 7 points lead at that moment leading 7-0. After another Cowboys punt, the Steelers would do another amazing touchdown, this time on a huge run by Willie Parker. A 68 yard gain for the touchdown, his 6th touchdown of the season. 14-0 Steelers early in this game. It was obviously a good day for the Steelers and a bad one for the Cowboys. On the 2nd play of their drive, Tony Romo would throw a bad pass that would get pick. Steelers'd have some good field position. That's were the luck would run out, Newman would pick Big Ben out and return the interception for 6. 14-7 after the first quarter. At the end of the second quarter, Hines Ward would make another big reception but not for the touchdown this time. The FB Carey Davis would run the ball in for his 2nd touchdown of the season to give the Steelers a 21-7 lead. Before the halftime mark, the Cowboys would run a great drive. Near the goalline Romo would benefit from a lot of time in the pocket to finally find Terrell Owens opened, he'd get hit really hard, would flip, and get into the endzone for his 10th touchdown of the season. 21-14 at the halftime mark.
2nd Half:Tony Romo would throw his second interception of the day and the Steelers would have another chance to increase their lead. They'd do it. On a very nice throw by Big Ben to Santonio Holmes who'd make the diving catch in the endzone. 28-14 Steelers. Dallas would reply right back with a nice drive of their own. They'd complete it on a nice short pass to Felix Jones to cut the lead to 7 points. The Dallas Cowboys with the momentum, would block a Steelers punt and get the ball in Steelers territory but Romo would get intercepted immediatly. They'd get another opportunity after a Big Ben interception. The Cowboys would then tie the game up at 28 on another touchdown pass from Romo. With a bit more than 2 minutes remining, the Steelers would retake the lead on a Jeff Reed field goal. The Cowboys would get a chance to tie or win this game with 2 minutes remaining in the game. After a completed pass in the middle of the field, the Steelers would commit a big mistake. A 15 yard face mask penalty. Thank god for them, Crayton would drop a pass while he was wide open and could of givin the lead to his team. They'd still manage to get first and goal with 30 seconds remaining. The Steelers defense would step up and force the field goal. Overtime ! In overtime, it'd be all Willie Parker. He'd get his team in field goal range. First attempt, Jeff Reed, hits it !! Oh no, flag on the play , holding. 2nd attempt, still hits it ! Steelers win ! Game pictures:T.O's touchdown reception Holmes touchdown reception Scoring Summary:

Surprisingly, they'd score on their first drive on a nice field goal by Jeff Reed who's been inconsistant this year. Both team exchanged a couple of punts during the rest of this first quarter. McGahee was then able to get some success on the ground which is surprising cause the only RB to do so during this season was some guy named Tomlinson. Unfortunately for him the passing game was mediocre for the Ravens. After a Big Ben interception, the Ravens managed to get some good field position but Flacco threw a big interception of his own and Ike Taylor made him pay for that brigning it back to the endzone. Steelers up 10-0 at the halftime.
2nd Half:The 3rd quarter of this game was pathetic. Punt after punts both team could not generate anything on offense. Since the Ravens offense was so ineffective, all the Steelers had to do in the last quarter of this game was try to run the clock as most as possible in each drive and that's exactly what they did and it worked out has they shutout the Baltimore Ravens in their home stadium 12-0. PITTSBURGH STEELERS (8-6) at TENNESSEE TITANS (7-7) Week 16 -- Sunday, December 21th 2008, 1:00 PM Teams| 1st| 2nd| 3rd| 4th| FinalPittsburgh| 17 | 3 | 0 | 7 | 27 Tennessee| 0 | 0 | 3 | 21 | 24 Most exciting game of the season !! ! 1st Half:
Wow, that was an important game for the two teams because they are still fighting for a playoff spots with 2 weeks remaining in this NFL season. Vince Young, known for throwing a lot of interceptions, would throw is first of the game, a costly one, in his own territory. The Steelers would settle for a short field goal to take a 3-0 lead. Guess what, on their next drive, the Titans would turn the ball over one more time on another Vince Young interception. Carey Davis would catch a wonderfull pass from Roethlisberger and would score the touchdown. 10-0 Steelers all points coming off turnovers. The Steelers added 7 more points on a nice pitch and catch by Roethlisberger and his tight end Heath Miller for the touchdown. 17-0 at the end of the first quarter. Both teams commited a lot of turnovers in the 2nd half. It was ridiculous. Medenhall had the chance to run a couple of plays since Parker was banged up. After another Reed field goal it was 20-0 Steelers at the halftime mark.
2nd Half:And then, the Titans tried a comeback. They came here with the intention to win so that's what they would try to do in this half. After a Rob Bironas field goal to cut down the lead at 17 points, the Titans finally scored their first touchdown of the game on a nice 6 yard run by White. Gage then scored another touchdown for the Titans to cut down the lead at 3 points on a 15 yard reception. The Steelers then went 3 and out and their punt almost got blocke by the Titans. The Titan would get the ball back with 1:52 at their 28 yard line. First down, 2 yard run by Young, clock runs. Second down, a nice first down pass in the middle of the field. Still going no huddle. Big pass, incomplete. 2nd down, clutch run by Young to get to the first down line but they are missing a couple of inches. It'd be 3rd and inches, Young would throw a nice pass to his TE to get into field goal range, what a drive. On the next play, Young would not play it safe, throwing a pass, completed to his FB for the TOUCHDOWN. The Titans made the comeback. Steelers would get the ball back with around 20 seconds remaining trailing by 4 points. Ball on the 30 yard line, 2 pass later they'd be in Titans territory with 12 seconds remaining at the Titans 27 yard line. 1 timeout remaining. 1 try at the endzone, missed. 2nd down, a nice pass to Sweed, out of bounds at the Titans 6 with 4 seconds remaining. What a game it was ! Guess what ! " Big Ben snaps the ball, fakes the throw to Ward, looks around, fires it to Sweed who catches it on a nice route in the middle of the field, no ones there to tackle him, HE'S IN FOR THE TOUCHDOWN !!!! " said the announcer ! It was an incredible game, it's sad one team had to lose, and it was the Titans. CLEVELAND BROWNS (8-7) at PITTSBURGH STEELERS (9-6) Week 17 -- Sunday, December 28th 2008, 1:00 PM Teams| 1st| 2nd| 3rd| 4th| FinalPittsburgh| 0 | 6 | 0 | 0 | 6 Cleveland| 0 | 6 | 3 | 0 | 9 Kicker vs Kicker 1st Half:
It was the last week of the 2008-2009 NFL season and the Steelers were facing the Cleveland Browns in a very important game. Both teams are still fighting for the AFC North division title. Both teams have their own faith in their hand. If Cleveland wins, they have a playoffs spot and the division title. If Pittsburgh does, they have the division title and have a playoff berth. If the Steelers lose this game, they'll have to wait and see cause their faith will then depend on the matter of some week 17 games. On their first drive, the Steelers would have to punt but they'd manage to get the punt downed at the Browns 2 yard line. They'd manage to get the Browns to go 3 and out and get good field position. The Steelers had trouble moving the ball on their drive and were forced to punt also. In rainy conditions, both teams were locked up at 0-0 after one quarter. Both teams would exchange two field goals in the 2nd quarter and the score at the halftime: 6-6.
2nd Half:The Browns would take a 3 points lead thanks to an interception by Ben Roethlisberger deep in his territory. At the end of the 3rd quarter, it'd be 9-6 Browns going in the last quarter of the regular season for both teams. The Steelers would have the chance to make a comeback into this one getting the ball with 2 minute remaining in the game. They'd fail to get something going thanks to a holding penalty from Marvel Smith and 2 sacks allowed. Big Ben would then throw a costly interception and that'd be it for the Steelers in this one. They lose a very important game to the Browns 9-6. Game pictures:The Browns running the clock down. Last play of this season for the Steelers. Scoring Summary:
