Hey Jeff, you hearing anything about McKnight and Ole Miss? They Rebs seem to think they too have a shot at Joe. I'm thinking it's probably 50/50 LSU and USC but that would be crazy if he ended up at Ole Miss.

If I recall correctly, Lorenzo Booker ran for an excess of 3,800 yards, and 48 touchdowns as a Senior.

McKnight ins't dumb enough to go to Ole Miss. Well c'mon now, wouldn't you want to play for Coach O? I think he's a Tiger and has his mind made up. God I hate the thought of playing against him for the next 3-4 years.

The big news tomorrow is Joe McKnight.
I'm hopeful that Alabama will sign Brandon Gibson, other than that, not as exciting as last year.

Joe McKnight has signed his LOI to the University of............
Southern California. It's not as much fun as if Ole Miss got him, but damn I can't say that I'm not happy.
Also Brandon Gibson signed his LOI to go to Alabama. All in all, it's a pretty good day.

Noel Devine committed to WEST VIRGINIA. Go Mounties! They're my second favorite team. a) Who calls them the mounties? b) When did Fanuzzi actually switch from UM to Bama? ***Edit - Nevermind - I actually scrolled through the old post to see bama's post a couple of weeks back. I haven't been following the recruiting much lately because I honestly don't care too much. I assume UM's rep dropping is why Fanuzzi switched. Here is what I said about it to a buddy who played for UM when he asked about Fanuzzi in like August... His family has ties to Miami and when he committed as a junior to UM, they stopped committing QB's for this class. I'm not sure what changed. It sounds to me that Major Applewhite being hired by Saban was the key for the switch. Fanuzzi had a pretty good senior year against good competition. Both his dad and bro were D1 QB's.

I think it was most likely the Applewhite effect that got him to Alabama. He really wasn't on our list of guys (we had Robert Marve at the time) and suddenly he visited and decided he wanted to come to Bama. Sounds like he's pretty good though, glad to hear it.
Oh and DB should be hit in the mouth for calling WVU "mounties."

Oh and DB should be hit in the mouth for calling WVU "mounties." Agreed - I'm sure my throng of relatives there would agree too.

I dont know if it has been mentioned but look at these ratings...
Florida - #1 LSU - #3 Tennessee - #4 Auburn - #6 South Carolina - #7
I dont know what we are fed down south, but we seem to have great homegrown players on top of snabbing out of state recruits.
And I am getting sick of USC holding the mid-west towards California. I dont think it will ever end for them. They are a good team, their players go pro, highschool players wana go pro so they wana go to USC, so USC is good, and the players go pro and that influences the next highschool class.
USC has a billion recruits, and when one falls through, the call the next on the list and he's just as good. Half the stars on other teams are guys who didnt make it in USC.

I don't get why McKnight went to USC. They have a bijillion running backs. Why be a situational player at USC when you could've been a God at Alabama? Or a possible starter at another SEC school?

Has anybody seen anything on Everson Griffen, a DE heading to USC. 6-3 265 pounds and a 4.46 combine timed 40! The kid is a freak. Also the SEC put up some very good classes this year as N2S pointed out. Spurrier is doing a good job at South Carolina and Fat Phil up at UT did a great job as well. It's tough when you have the 13th ranked class, and are still the seventh best in your conference. Things ought to be exciting in the SEC for the next few years at least. Also, later on we ought to highlight our team's class for the rest of us. You know, a star of the class and some sleepers.

Mcknight went to USC because he is an amazing RB, he is confident that he is an amzing RB, so he knows hes going to start in USC eventually. The other RBs isn't a problem to him, because he'll just beat them.
With C.J. Gabble going to the Draft... Starting position is up for grabs and I would put money on Mcknight making it. He's that good.
