I think we need an official recruiting thread.
So far, my Buckeyes have landed one of the nation's top prospects, in offensive lineman Mike Adams, a kicker, and a potentially game breaking wide receiver.
It's going to be an interesting 11 months until signing day.

Mizzou landed a potential 5* TE, Andrew Jones, a local product, a few weeks ago, and have three other commits that are all 3-4* potentially.
One of the nation's top quarterbacks, Blaine Gabbert from St. Louis, is also expected to commit soon, within the next month or so. Mizzou is the leader.

And Florida has probably the crappiest recruiting class of all time. ;p

Penn State is in the running for the top prospect in the nation, but something tells me he'll go to another school. Penn State isn't exactly the best place for a quarterback to play college ball.
I don't know if David Posluszny will committ to Penn State either. He obviously has strong ties to Penn State, and may not want to live up to those expectations.
Hoefully in a year I'm quoting this and laughing about how wrong I was, though.

Recruiting lists for my team mean absolutely nothing.

Recruiting lists for my team mean absolutely nothing. If your school didn't suck so bad, maybe that wouldn't be a problem. I indirectly know a guy who goes to USMA, so yeah I should be more supportive. I'm just in a bad mood.

Yeah. I have a feeling he's headed to a Florida school.

So we'll never get one of those Rivals Top 200 or whatnot dudes.

Really I think the problem with all the academies is the fact they have to serve in the military for five years after leaving. If a guy thinks he has a shot at the NFL, why would you do that?

That's the problem getting top flight athletes to USMA and the like. The academics and the extra training they do is another thing that probably scares the average athlete away. I think the best you can hope for is a situation like Navy right now.

I think the best you can hope for is a situation like Navy right now. David Robinson got like 2 years in the Navy and like 10 years in the reserves or something to that extent. Also, no 300-pound linemen at the academies. Military training takes away from practice and turns 280 into 255. Hard to gain weight with food rationing. Army's less lenient when it comes to guys gettting less time in the Army and more time in the pros. Academic standards are as bad as a Wake Forest or a Stanford. I told you I could talk about this all day.

Ohio State has landed another prospect since I last posted about actual recruiting.
Strong-side linebacker Devoe Terrance committed a few weeks ago, and he runs a 4.5. Although he could stand to put on 20-25 pounds, consdiering he only ways 215, he could make a good safety if he plays faster than he runs the 40. It helped that his brother is already on campus, as I'm sure that played a role in his deicision.

Bama, any news on Blaine Gabbert? He's a QB from St. Louis who might be the second-ranked QB behind Pryor in the nation this year. He took a visit to Tuscaloosa recently, and apparently, Mr. Saban really would like to get him. Just seeing if you knew anything about his visit. Missouri is tops on his list, and a close friend of his just committed to Mizzou recently (TE Andrew Jones). Would much rather see him go to 'Bama or an SEC school instead of the slimy Huskers or K-State. Apparently, he's already turned down a big number of schools. Would like to see him in Black and Gold, though.

I have not seen much on his visit bearcat, but he's the top quarterback on Bama's list. I don't have any premium access to those sites, so I get my info via word of mouth. I think Mizzou is still the favorite from everything I've seen.
