Well I've been going crazy the whole morning sorting this stuff out with my other people, and it's been a helluva morning. Just a couple things about the Press Conference he said:
Stuff I posted and an insider on the program said: Me- He said "I am the coach at LSU and I will continue to be the coach at LSU." He never said the words, next year or next week or anything like that. Like somebody said below, I believe it was just a ploy to keep his team in the game this week. Good sources all week pointed us to reasons of why Les will come, and he is probably just dealing with the pressure and strain of having to deal with the conflicting issues right now. I still think he's coming, he just didn't want his team distracted. He didn't close the door on Michigan at all, unless he signs that extension.
Insider- I think he is coming to Michigan. What else is he supposed to say. I think the only negative thing is that he said anything at all, because I would have hoped he would have just let the ESPN "its official" story just die. However, Kirk Herbstreet F-ed this up. I am so pissed at him, and he clearly has his hand in this to manipulate the situation...in Ohio State's favor with no Les Miles. That's so unprofessional. I still think because he did not outright come out and deny the job that he is coming, because if it was really that clear in his mind he would have flat out denied it. He did not.
And me later:
Whether he goes to M or stays at LSU, Miles is pissed cause people are f'ing up his players heads going into the SEC championship. He never flat out came out and said I'm not coming to Michigan I will be here next year. If he truly was going to stay as LSU next year, he would have been smiling and said: I'm am not entertaining the Michigan offer I am going to sign the LSU extension effective immediately. Seems like LSU might be playing with his words. He took the Michigan offer to LSU to try and get a counter offer of big bucks, and he probably said somethin along the lines of 'I like that deal' and it turned into : 'Les Miles agrees to stay at LSU.'
Some Michigan law student- "an agreement to agree is not an agreement" -first rule of a first year law school contracts course
Les Miles agreed to agree on an LSU contract extension to extend his time table to decide between staying at LSU and going to Michigan. This is just helluva lot of confusing BS and we'll just have to wait and see...

Michigan should hire John L. Smith. He knows the territory.

Also about Tenuta, he's one BADASS Coach and I would be ecstatic if we got him, but even if we did he'd only be there for like one season because he'd get offered a head coachign position somewhere. David any word on him becoming the GT coach next year?
EDIT: More stuff-

LoL at Michigan fans blaming Kirk Herbstreit. His job is to report what he hears, not his fault that Michigan won't pony up the $ to get Miles.

Tenuta is also a former Buckeye guy, he's a great DC.
Les Miles needs to learn what the words "Ethics", "Sportsmanship", and "Respect" mean.

LoL at Michigan fans blaming Kirk Herbstreit. His job is to report what he hears, not his fault that Michigan won't pony up the $ to get Miles. Money isn't the problem... Think of this from Les Miles's perspective. He has spent hundreds and hundreds of hours this season with one goal in mind: win the SEC championship. It is now the day of the big day, you have a backup quarterback starting, and when you try to talk about your game plan you find out that none of your players are focused on the game. All they can talk about is that their head coach is supposedly going to Michigan and their Bo is going to Nebraska. "is it true" and "are you staying for the bowl game" the players ask. Les gets mad. If you saw the PC you realize how angry he really was.But even though he was about to explode, he never once said the words "Michigan" "next year" or "contract". Miles was simply trying to get control back over his team. In all his anger he still didn't deny anything about Michigan. He still wants to be at Michigan. And also Herbstreit wouldn't announce the Tenuta as D-Cord for no reason. Probably he had a conversation and there was a leak, nothing official, Miles possibly networking before the big interview. And actually Sportsbuck it wasn't Herbstreits fault, he didn't do anything. ESPN stole the story and just gave the credit to Herbstreit, like the Mark May-Houston Nutt thing.

He's probably the greatest coordinator in college right now. And yeah he coached their from from 1993-2000 I believe, being the D-Coordinator for one year. I think David can agree with me on the fact that during the Reggie Ball era, it was basically Calvin Johnson and Tenuta's D getting them every single win. He has had a Badass D with less then stellar talent for many years now.

ESPN has no business calling themselves journalists after what they've done today, all of this smoke and mirrors reminds me of how unethical they were during the MOC/Ohio State accusations in 03 and 04 (Which were later found to have no merit or value whatsoever).

Yeah sorry about earlier Sportsbuck. I meant to be blasting ESPN not Herbstreit. Right now their trying to distance themselves from that earlier report, they won't even write their own news about this right now! They copied an article posted on MSNSports just a few minutes ago.... If ESPN were covering Pearl Harbor on the morning of 7 December 1941 they'd probably say that there seems to be a disturbance of some kind going on but there is no indication that it is any kind of aerial military attack. I think... as of right now, and this is just my opinion... we all need to take a step back and hear something from a direct source. Les Miles is the only direct source that's spoken right now. And his PC didn't deny or confirm ANYTHING. That much is sure. Other piece of advice. Buckle the fuck up. (lol for basically just me and JTR and Maize since half the board doesn't give a F)

I have a dog in the hunt for this UM story, hoping they don't hire that f'n clown. I hope that Les Miles stays at LSU for a long long time. If LSU gets a real coach it's going to be tough to deal with.

None of this makes sense on the surface. But if you knew the Michigan side of it, it makes perfect sense. If you think that Carr hates Miles, and that Lloyd still has Mary Sue Coleman's ear.

If LSU gets a real coach it's going to be tough to deal with. Hey Bama, from the top Michigan insider, Tom of MichiganScout... Just got a call saying... ... that, in one of the biggest sports bars in Baton Rouge ... when Les made his presser statement, he got a huge, 100% ... resounding chorus of boos. Man, if LSU loses today ...

Yeah and I don't see how they come out focused enough to beat a pretty good Tennessee team. All the drama this week and with both Bo and Les having job interviews and what not, I think LSU may come out and get mauled. I hope not, because Tennessee makes me want to slaughter a small child.
Oh and the smart LSU fans I think want Les Miles out and to get a real coach in there. LSU is a great job, probably one of the top 3-5 jobs in America right now. Great fan support, tons of talent, and no in state competition for a state with a great amount of talent. With a good coach, they've got an ability to be a USC like dominate program.

Miles just said he is staying, controversy over. And thanks Bama. Yeah, nothing is over until someone else takes the UM job. "I will not be the head coach at Alabama!" Anyone remember (I know you do) who said that? This is shocking though, because I was told the deal to get Saban to LSU was already done. Spurrier has already bought a house in Baton Rouge too, which sucks for him not getting the LSU job either.

Miles just said he is staying, controversy over. And thanks Bama. lol if you believe that. He might stay, but nobody will know 100% absolutely sure that he is staying or going til after he interviews with Michigan, scheduled for Sunday or Monday and he's having a press conference with a smiling LSU AD and wife signing the extension. Or you see him in Ann Arbor in a press conference with Bill Martin.

Anyone remember (I know you do) who said that? This is shocking though, because I was told the deal to get Saban to LSU was already done. Spurrier has already bought a house in Baton Rouge too, which sucks for him not getting the LSU job either. This is from a guy over at Scout... a regular poster, but it makes SO much sense. This morning, when Herby broke the news it sent the LSU locker room into a tizzy. Les and the AD knew that they had no chance of winning the SEC Championship game with the team in this type of turmoil. A quick meeting is made and they decide that the best way to attack this is to have the AD make comments about an extension, although unsigned, and to have a quick to the point PC by Miles. I think that this has more to do with winning the SEC Championship and getting the Auto-bid to a BCS game then it does to Les' new extension (magic bullet). Think about it, winning the SEC Championship and getting the BCS game is probably worth bout 20 mil. all told to LSU. The AD didnt want to put that on the line so he is willing to look all foolish in the end (I'll get to that). He is on his way out and the likelihood of Les signing an extension without knowing how his boss is going to be is highly unlikely and a terrible business move. If the "extension" is the numbers that have been speculated, it is the same as or close to, what UM was offering. Why stay? So, to have a chance to win this game today, and get to the BCS game, the AD is willing to have egg on his face in the end. He is leaving in June, so that doesn't matter much to him, not as much as 20 mil. does IMO. So, behind closed doors, he knows that LM is going to leave for UM, and is going to take the brunt of the heat for the extension rumor, but he is doing it for the betterment of the school. On tuesday, there will be a PC and LM will announce his "change of heart" (which is made up) and that he will come to UM. LSU's AD will come on and say that he cannot be mad at LM because its his alma mater. LSU goes to the Sugar, and gets their Money and their bowl game, and Michigan gets their coach.
