UCLA is reportedly interested in Norm Chow of recent axeage by the Titans thanks, in large part, to the horrible QBing of future bust Vince Young (although Bush hasn't done much better)

Jay, maybe I'm wrong, but I get that idea reading your post. I'll shit myself if Young ever passes for 3,000, let alone 4,000 yards. That's just not how he plays. Granted, better receivers would help, but his forte is keeping plays alive with his feet and throwing on the run. Plus, isn't he like 18-6 as a starter? I remember the Titans putting him in midway through last season and nearly making the playoffs.

I just dont think he is that good. Sure he can win but that doesn't mean he's good. Shit Ravens won a Super Bowl behind one of the worst quarterbacking efforts ever in Trent Dilfer but he was good at managing the game. Sure Young is an amazing athlete and an amazing college QB but he just doesn't have the QB ability to be that good.

I agree with Cooljay. VY isn't a good QB. Against a defense that will play him for his running abilities, he's limited because he can't beat teams with his arm...which is what a QB should do.

Even Mike Vick was able to beat people with his arm. Um, when was that? His career best completion percentage was only 56.4 and his career high in TD passes was only 20. In fact, that was the biggest mark on his career (before the scandal): that he was a running QB who couldn't beat teams with his arm.

Idk, Mike Vick COULD beat teams with his arm. His receivers just couldn't beat teams with theirs.

I never said that Young was a "good" quarterback per se, but that he's good in his own right - he wins games playing a different kind of quarterback. Fine, make him beat you with his arm, but I think he'll get better as the years pass. He's only in his second year.
Plus, he didn't set the world on fire passing, but he did improve some this year. He had a few 200 yard games and a 300 yard game this year, and completed 63% of his passes. I think that's all you could have asked for. BTW, I absolutely didn't think he would do ANYTHING at quarterback in the NFL before he was drafted. Nothing. Zilch.

C'mon, throw the guy a bone I agree, every dog has his day. And it brings up the question if all dog DO indeed go to heaven, what about Vick?
