Heh, I really haven't watched OSU enough then, because I thought Boeckman was your traditional pocket passer. That speed is a good thing, because LSU's defense is very beatable if you can spread em out and have speed at quarterback. Ohio State has to be ready for LSU's speed up front. That, as you know, is where the SEC speed thing actually shows up. If those brusers on the OSU o-line can deal with LSU's speed up front, they'll make this the only BCS game worth a shit. Boeckman is your traditional pocket passer until everything goes batshit and he has no time. Then he just starts running. If he's just running straight than he is excellent, but he has ZERO agility. I mean, I've seen pieces of furniture with better moves. Personally, I do think we'll fare a lot better against their speed than most anticipate. Dorsey is very overrated (Don't get me wrong, he's the best defensive football player in the country but analysts seem to think he is God incarnated), and I think that the Arkansas game proved that he can be run right over with a top-notch back, and I don't care if he's hurt. If he's hurt he shouldn't be on the field. All I know is, this has the potential to be the best NC game in a long time.

One thing I disagree with. A healthy Dorsey is an f'n animal. Of course, I may be biased because he's representing Ascension Parish (where I live). For real though, when he is healthy he is an absolute terror for any o-line. Look at his stats man. I've seen people who thought his season stats were career numbers. Ohio State will have to double team him a lot if he is running at 100%. I know it seems like he doesn't deserve the praise. When he's healthy though man, and I've seen him at 100% before, he is the best DT I've seen in college.

I don't doubt that he is, I just get sick of the lovefest announcers have for him. I mean when they talk about him you would think he just saved the world.
Another thing is, he hasn't faced an offensive line like Ohio State's (Although in the same light you could make an arguement that we haven't faced a DT like Dorsey).
But, one last thing. Dorsey looks so effing fat out there.

I would agree that OSU has the best o-line that LSU has faced (considering they haven't played anyone outside of Arkansas with a decent o-line this year) but OSU is going to be stunned at the athletes LSU has up front. I'm suggesting that LSU's d-line this year is better than UF's last year. Ohio State's o-line better be better suited to deal with those athletic guys up front this year or it's going to be Troy Smith all over again (you know, except with a worse QB under center). That is the key match up for my money. As long as Ohio State isn't getting trashed up front all night like last year, they make this a game. I think they will, but I'm still worried about it.
Oh and Sportsbuck, give me a little insight into OSU's secondary. LSU just has a lot of talented wide outs to deal with. Doucet, Byrd, Lafell, and of course Holiday are all great players. How do you think OSU's secondary will match up depth wise. I trust the starters are good, but how do you think Ohio State will handle all the talent LSU has out wide? I really want to pick your brain about OSU, because I don't know the team that well. Hope you are willing to humor me man.

I really want to pick your brain about OSU, because I don't know the team that well. Hope you are willing to humor me man. Well, we've got the number 1 ranked pass defense in the country, and the best overall secondary in the country as well. If Early D oucet is matched up on Malcolm Jenkins on all game long like I expect, then don't expect to hear from Doucet too often, as Malcolm hasn't had a pass completed on him since week 4. Byrd's going to be matched up with Donald Washington. Washington is like a younger, rawer version of Jenkins. He's not in the shut-down capacity like Jenkins yet, but most likely will be next year. As far as our safeties, we have one of the best young duos in the country. Anderson Russell plays at SS. He is one of the main reasons we lost to Florida last year. Russell started as a redshirt freshman last year, and was dominant in the first five games before he tore his ACL against Iowa. Since we didn't have him against Florida, they had to sit in soft zone and we got picked apart by Leak. Russell is probably the best run-support safety in the Big Ten, and is very good in pass coverage. He just needs to learn how to hold on to interceptions, as he's dropped four of them this year. At FS we have Kurt Coleman. Coleman is very underrated and doesn't get a lot of attention. When teams throw the deep ball on us you can bet that Coleman will be the one breaking it up. He's a bit undersized, but man he packs a wallop when he hits you. A nickelback we have Chimdi Chekwa. He's a redshirt freshman, and took his lumps in the Illinois game. Other than that one game, he was fantastic all year long. Especially against Purdue when they tried to put 5 wide all over the place, and he earned Big Ten DPOW honors. He's from Florida (Although he moved there from Africa) and might be the fastest member of this secondary (And that's saying something with Jenkins there). He's got the most potential of anyone in this group, but he is still a redshirt freshman. But the biggest thing this group does is take away those bubble screens. I know LSU loves those things, but we completely take those away, just ask Purdue and Penn State. And Byrd really should keep his mouth shut. He gave this group bulliten board material when he said they weren't anything special and couldn't compare to the All-American DB's they face in the SEC. What's laughable about that is the only All-American any of them face is in practice, considering there is one All-American DB in the SEC and he plays for LSU.

I knew that Jenkins was good and what not, but Doucet is a hard guy to shut down. If anyone is going to do it, it's probably Jenkins but expect Early to get a few receptions. Oh and very good point on the bubble screens, though I would say Crowton isn't as big on them as Jimbo Fisher was last year. You have to contain those against LSU, because they have a couple of guys (Doucet, Holiday, and even that freshman Tolliver) that can do a lot of damage if they get the ball with a little open space.
A good run supporting SS is a big thing too. Gotta have someone to help the linebackers deal with Scott, Williams, and of course Hester. The scary thing here is that you are going to see a lot of Hester, but the best running back on the team is IMO Williams. I do have faith that OSU has the d-line and LBs to deal with Hester straight up the gut. It's the speeder guys like Williams or Holiday on an end around that has me concerned, but if your safeties have a little speed and can play some run support you'll be fine.
This game really is going to come down to how well Ohio State can handle LSU's defensive speed. I don't think LSU scores more than 27 points here, most likely more like 17-21. That is unless OSU can't keep their offense on the field and your defense gets tired. That's the only battle that matters, because Ohio State can and will stop LSU's offense. I'm not 100% sold we're not going to see a repeat of UF's D vs OSU's O this year.
Anything to add Sportsbuck or someone else who may know LSU better than I (unless it's Jeff, I don't expect anyone to)?

Sparty's up 7-0 on BC right now.

Yeah, I did like the guy, until he took the job at Michigan State. When you take a job in-conference I start to hate. Especially when he insinuated that the MSU-Mich rivalry is more intense than tOSU-Mich. I'd say we've done a damn good job replacing him as our DC, though.
