MSU-Mich rivalry is more intense than tOSU-Mich. He didn't say that. Why don't you check your facts before you spill that shit all over. You've done a good job replacing him? Has the new one won a NC yet? LOL dude we're coming up on our second NC appearance. And BTW, our DC won the Frank Broyles award this year as the best assistant in college football.

He said that it means more to him.
It means more in the state.

Uh, no. He literally said word for word that it is more intense.

Dude, read what he said.
"You have players from this state playing against players from this state," he said. "You have coaches that have to deal with the recruiting aspects. I believe, having been in both, that it is a little more intense up here from that perspective."
That's his perspective from the state. Whether people believe it or not, Michigan and Michigan State are constantly competing.
Did he say the OSU and UM rivalry wasn't intense? No. He stated a fucking opinion on the MSU vs UM rivalry. That is a rivalry you understand by being involved in it.
On a national level, people look at UM and OSU. But on an in-state level as a whole, people think MSU and Michigan from that "perspective".
I was thinking of his press conference and the little bits and pieces I saw of it. Sportsbuck must have found something else that I never saw before.
But read what Dantonio said. He didn't take anything from the OSU and UM rivalry or said it was more intense, he said it was more intense on the way he looked at things. Not anyone else.

Dantonio was trying to fire-up his players through the motivation of overcoming a rival. It is a big game, no doubt, but Michigan-Ohio State is one of the greatest rivalries in sports.
In-state... people understand the intensity of an in-state rivalry, but that same can be said for Western, Central, and Eastern. State fans always make more of it because they are guaranteed victories in the game because we can't field a basketball team.
Btw, I hate Alex Legion.....

No doubt, there are bigger rivalry games than UM vs MSU.
But I don't think Dantonio meant that UM vs MSU was better than OSU vs UM on a large scale. He was saying that as far as Michigan State and the state of Michigan are concerned.
I think you have to live in Michigan to understand that.

I think you have to live in Michigan to understand that. I agree. He was simply looking for a way to put his team in a position to overcome a rival. Its not like he said the MSU-OSU game is bigger. We all know Michigan can't hang with Ohio State, so why should the Spartans be expected to....

he said it was more intense on the way he looked at things. Not anyone else. Which is why I said.. Especially when he insinuated that the MSU-Mich rivalry is more intense than tOSU-Mich. Notice the bold on "he", which is referring to Mark Dantonio in that sentence.

I'm going to the Meineke Car Care Bowl today between UConn and Wake Forest.
I hope the game isn't as boring as I expect it to be.

smith needs a big 4th quarter if hopes to get close to sanders. I think he has around 90 yards with 4 min left in the 3rd and Miss St. has the ball. I for one hope he gets it. I always like to see people break records.
On a side note I played against one of the guys on the UCF defense. Senior DT #74 Keith Shologan played for the Parkland Predators (high school team just outside edmonton) when I played in high school. He is a year older than me. I played directly opposite him the whole game (he was a DE at the time I was LT). He made a few tackles but I didn't let him get a sack (he had like 10 in 6 games coming in).

just a quick update Smith unofficially has 110 yards so he needs 71+ to pass Sanders.

Smith couldn't have been lined up against a worst team to go for that record against. Moo Moo State knows how to play defense, and it showed today in what has been my favorite bowl to watch so far. I love a good defensive battle, and that's the only thing you could call that.
Sly Croom is a hell of a coach, he's going to have the Bulldogs playing for the SEC West in a couple of years. Old school football at its best.
